padraig has a long way to go to prove he is on tigers level, i'll give you that. garcia? don't make me laugh. it will be fascinating to see tiger and him haed to head though, saying that, where was tiger in 2007? he can't handle bad weather on links, more than a stiff breeze and he's out of the running. Harrington has proved he's the best links player around at the moment.

and to anyone who says it's all golf has never played a true links course.

He blew his shot, and went to the last hole of the four hole playoff 2 shots down. Completely outplayed by Harrington who should have birdied 17 aswell. 2008 PGA- Garcia hits a really good shot into par 3 16th, harrington hits it a few feet outside garcia, harrington holes his putt, garcia misses his one when he comes under the pressure.

Jeez calm down please. I would also like to point out if your gonna bring up the 2007 Open, are you forgetting how Harrington played the last hole? Drive.. In the drink, approach.. In the drink again, goes on to make double. Thats called choking. Yeah he made a few clutch putts in the PGA, but it doesn't take much to outputt Garcia. When I made the comparison to Garcia I was talking about overall standard, not just mental. Was Harrington regularly contending in majors at Sergios age? Nope.

If I remember correctly Harrington beat Tiger once in a head to head, and it was in a relatively small tournament in Japan. I don't think you should compare Tiger and Harrington, its unfair on Harrington.

It has taken years of work to be able to get on keel with Tiger in the mental game. harrington will never pass out tiger, but in the next few years, he might just close the gap.

No this is the point, he isn't "on keel" with Tiger in the mental game, not even close. The guy has made a few clutch putts, thats not enough to be on keel with Tiger Woods. Mentally I would say the only player at a similar level to Tiger was Jack Nicklaus.

No, Harrington has not gone head to head with Tiger on a back nine at a major, so you cannot claim that he is able to cope with it. Even if mentally he was able to cope, which I think he is capable, Tiger is undoubtebly a better player so one would still expect Tiger to come through. The point Im making is, its not "Tiger and Harrinton", its Tiger, then some other mentally strong golfers, then everyone else. I don't rate Harrington any highr than Kim or Garcia.
