  • Actually there WAS a great NES game: The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

  • Comparing SNES graphics and gameplay to NES and Atari 2600 is like comparing a steak dinner to a hotdog... this review tells us very little really because all your comparing it too are the shitty Indy games that AVGN tore appart. Compare it to similar games on the same or similar platform. How does it compare to games like Castlevania IV, Super Metroid, The Adventures Of Batman & Robin, Earthworm Jim... you know other action platformers (two of which also use whips).

  • god damn game, it's good yet it fucking punches me in the balls every time I play it. That boulder level still haunts my dreams, all the those spikes making you do a split-second jump, which if you go wrong, you're dead. That's it. The stages are way too long as well. The first few levels are grouped nicely enough, but then the second stage of levels just goes on and on, making the password system fucking pointless. I want to love it, but the stupid difficulty yanks me back every time.

  • ive watched a fair few snes reviews on youtube recently and fair play m8 your the the best reviewer yet- its gotta be said the irate gamer or what ever hes called who seems like a professional reviewer is a pure and simple (very simple boring wierd man) dick. I dont have a clue why you have a fraction of his views but thats why youtubes crazy

  • What do you think indiana jones and the temple of doom nes

  • The two graphic adventure Indy games for the PC were good, if you like that sort of thing.

  • Oh man I remember this game very well. Been at least 15 years since I've played it but it was so much fun. I grew up watching the Indiana Jones movies so this game was definately one of my favorites for the SNES. Probably still the best Indy game ever released.

  • The last crusade on the Genesis wasn't that bad :)

  • Amazing game. This one and Super Star War Trilogy is of my favorite SNES games. The only flaw in this Indy game is that they didn't include all the adventure (which is understandable) for example: motobike chase with his father from Last Crusade, Boat Chase also from Last Crusade. Any other stuff in this game is brilliant , the music , the sound is very Indy like. The atmosphere is superb and difficulty balance is well done.

Great review and thanks for bringing memories back.

  • @Proof1280 cool thx for the update . I'll get to it.

  • i LOVE THIS GAME. But just one thing you mentioned that I didn't get.. that they should've added the airplane fight scene. It IS in the game. Or at least.. there IS an airplane fighting stage/level in this game I'm sure of it.

  • snes is awsome and when i was a little kid indiana jones was my fucking HERO and i still love to watch him kick ass today!

  • i couldnt figure the whip how do i get or find it???

  • Thanks for the video. I think I'll buy this when I get my SNES replaced.

  • Once I played an N64 Indiana Jones game and it sucked and ripped of Ocarina of Time.

  • I swear you have got to do games from the last decade.

  • great game, ill buy it.

  • Nice review my man, Thanks :-)

  • You didn't mention the sound of the game, which I think they did really good, and I am in love with the SNES version of the Indy theme. But overall, great review, and I agree with every point you made.

  • Great review, not to over the top like most reviews are now. Just right!

  • Lucasarts also made this game if you did not know.

  • Thanks for pointing that out, coruscant100 I thought they didn't exsist until ps1 was born, really the only Indiana Jones game that I have is the Staff of Kings.

  • 'infernal machine' was ok

  • filmnstuff, I don't know if you have any of the nowaday video game systems but you should play Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. That game was awesome.

    cool review

  • equals episode 1

  • ya its just one of those games that stay faitful to the movie and the game developers got it right, for example : the lion king on snes

  • haha well the problem in the new indiana jones movie (in my opinion) wasn't Harrison Ford, he's old, but he could still pull off most of what he could in the old movies. But the overall plot was just stupid, i mean they spend their time running around looking for the crystal dildo or whatever the hell that thing is, and the aliens were just too far out of the Indiana Jones world to be considered relevant. But hey, if it makes him money...

  • ya i agree , i was thinking the same thang

  • My main problem with "Indy 4" is that Spielberg cheesed it up. It could have worked had he not made it so lame and silly.

  • I dont think it was Spielberg, Lucas is loosing his writing talent. I doubt its the directing, as with the new star wars movies, its most likely the script. I personaly liked the movie, sure it was no Raiders, but it was still a fun movie to me. Then again, I liked I Am Legend while everyone else seemed to hate the movie.

  • same here im not gonna lie it was the first indy movie i saw (after seeing it i saw the others) and me as a teen thought it was fine stupid at parts but fine so if u older fans are wondering if younger audiences will hate indy cuz of 4 dont be thats stupid to begin with

  • oh yea. i always bought madd machine pistol ammo

  • good job that you beat it!!!!!!!!!!

  • This brings back some good ol times filmstuff got it rite. i remember in temple doom (this version) there was that stupid palace level were u went bhind those vases from diff sides wich was fukn frustrating. anyway i liked the game

  • This game was good but challenging

It was a great presentation of Indy's first 3 films

  • Didn't like Emperors Tomb much?

    I thought it was fine

  • Actually I liked Emperor's Tomb, except for the fact you had to shoot Nazis fifty times to put them down. Also the tank level was awful. If I could do PS2 games, that would definitely get a Levels from Hell segment.

  • Btw, think Crystal Skull was all right?

I thought it was pretty good

  • crystal skull sucked my balls and anus at the same time, thats how bad it was!!!!

  • @filmnstuff That was the one problem with the game, you'd blast someone away with a machine gun only for them to get back up again. Although the levels were good and you really felt like Indiana Jones. I had hoped that 'Staff of Kings' would have been quite similar..... it wasn't.

  • I thought George would've learned his lesson about making movies decades past their used-by date with the Star Wars prequels. Harrison Ford was the best thing about Indy 4, he did very well and proved that "It's not the years, its the milage" that really counts.

This is an awesome game, I started playing it recently and comparing it with some of the other Indy games, like the Temple of Doom arcade game, and this is a definite standout.

  • Oh you'd be surprised. It's a fantastic film, and a definite plus in the series. Some may say it's a bit "creaky", but who cares? Its Indy doing what he does best, and thats what I love.

  • I meant the fist fight around the flying wing with the Nazi mechanic in Raiders of the Lost Ark, not the dogfight in Crusade.

  • @filmnstuff isn't it enough with that level he mentioned? that was a great level

  • I agree. It's not the greatest fight. But it would have been more boring if Indy had been tied to the stake like the movie.

  • Yes, but if they were going to deviate from the movie, and I totally understand why they would, what they should have done was have Indy fight Belloq in hand-to-hand combat, and every now and then having ghosts coming out of the Ark which Indy would have to avoid. Now that would have been kickass!

  • Actually that's a pretty good idea. Too bad they couldn't have done it that way.

  • Ahaha! The fight with Belloq is so silly, he just jumps around in a pre-set pattern like an idiot, I mean, he doesn't even try to avoid Indy's whip, he doesn't even try to defend himself...

  • I think this is the best Indy game yet. But I haven't played Fate of Atlantis or Infernal Machine, so I don't know if they might be better.

I'd say Emperor's Tomb was pretty good, but that one tank level is horrible--I'd do a level from hell on it if I could--and having to shoot or whip a Nazi fifty times to kill him is bullshit. Also, there's problems with the camera.

  • 10/10

  • I loved this game on the Super Nintendo, Great review.

I have a question: What do you think is the best Indiana Jones video game?

  • Thanks.
