The first time I was watching this movie, I almost jumped put of my seat because it was John Linnell

I love how the first half of the movie is mostly like Henry Selick's other stop-motion films, being weird but interesting, and when she gets to the Other World, fun. The exception with the first half of the movie would be that creepy very first scene. Then it makes a horrifying turn for the worse with the Other Mother's "requirement", and the rest of the movie is a horror film done perfectly.

I went to go see this in theatres just to hear them play that song, the movie was good too. but the creepy part to me was that the other father looks very similar ot John Linnell

Possibly, They Might Be Giants entered several songs for the movie, but unfortunately the songs were not "Creepy enough" according to John Flansburgh. So I guess just to make up for it, they mad the other father look like Linnell

That does make sense. By the way, did you know that the Other Father is normally voiced in the movie by John Hodgman, aka The Deranged Millionaire, aka the PC Guy?
