  • Oh my god his voice matches his food.. heavenly :D

  • i love this, very simple and to the point, unlike Nicko who just keeps on talking and talking...his videos are like 6-10 minutes long.

  • What the hell is going on in this video

want real hashbrowns, not potato cakes?

    watch?v=pYhiIrlXY7I&feature=g-all&context=G247cb47FAAAAAAAACAA

    ez

  • Jesus, what an annoying accent.

  • the way you position your camera is perfect.

  • Thank you so much for this recipe !! i've tried it today and it's awsome !

    Your morrocan fun ; )

  • i try making them and when i popped it in the oil it started to fall apart..can u please tell me what went wrong..maybe ididnt add as much flour...can u please respond istill have the mashed potatoes in the freezer and idont want to waste them

  • @sexy42087 Sounds like you either made the patties too thin, or they got thawed a bit before you fried them - in both cases, there's more chances of the patty crumbling. And of course, make sure the oil is piping hot!

  • @shiyasaful You can make a dip sauce

  • can u teach us how to make a hash blacks

  • does anyone else think this dude is blown from his morning bong toke

  • this looks really easy to make!! thnx:)

  • Can you make a video on how to make hash brownies?

  • finally !!... this is what i have been serching for..thankyou !!!!!!!

  • this hash brown have a dip sauce?

  • Bloody legend.. gotta try this one.

  • you sir... are AMAZING! ive been trying to make this forever! thanks a whole bunch

  • this is the kind of hash brown I'm looking for not that other vid that's like just making potato crisp, though can we just not include skim milk powder if not available?

  • nice rack

  • Your narration is absolutely charming.

  • Lovely, must try these:-)

  • how do you hard boil a potato?

  • @mohaminater PAR boil. That means to boil it till it's partially done.

  • how many minutes do i have to put it on the freezer?

  • do u have to have the milk powder?

  • I like to put spice on it, gives it better taste than being alone.

  • looks good sounds good but I have always been afraid to cook with OIL for fear of a grease fire,,that always scared me so I try not to cook with oil,,I always try and use the oven,,,any way of doing this using the oven,,

  • @Dolphindream15 It should be fine, I'm not an expirience cook at all, I just watch videos like this at make stuff, but from what I know as long as you don't put anything wet in the oil it will be fine, I've never had anything happen to me.

  • @Dolphindream15 it takes ridiculous temperatures to ignite oil. Just make sure you don't add any water to hot oil or it will explode, you cannot do this in the oven.

  • Thank you, that looks like the best hash brown recipe on you tube!

  • ok the size of you said is different....1 teaspoon of butter and salt ? there are more than 3 teas spoon of it from according to your plate and fingers size unless you are a dwarf

  • Do we have to use flour? cuz i dont have any:(

  • awesome! i will try this soon! thanks

  • Thanks a lot!

  • why is the egg orange?????

  • @szpeeker egg...yolk....retard

  • Comment removed

  • thats y they are not in a restaurant..

  • obviously inspired by Nicko

  • @roboyagami Cause we all know Nicko invented hash browns.

  • @Canonpedua12 i meant the show...everyone knows that the hash brown was a food of the gods that fell to our world...at least thats how i see it

  • @roboyagami

Nicko's version was horrible; I wouldn't even call his version "hash browns." It was just fried strips of potatoes. This, on the other hand, looks legit. In any case, I like Nicko (sub'd to him), but his hash browns weren't hash browns...and Nicko didn't invent the hash browns.

  • taking me ages to freeze it, liquid keeps forming and coming out :(

  • thanks for the recipe... :-)

  • subscribed ^_^

  • Thank you very much!! Easy and very much cheaper than to buy !! LOve it !!

  • is it possible to make them with less flour, no butter and no sugar AND in an oven ? if i want to have them for breakfast, i need to make them a bit more healthier m8.

  • @azt3c

Not to put a downer on your idea there, but if you wanted that, you might want to look at the whole grilled version he mentioned in the video. This is an unhealthier junk food version (so called for a reason). The potatoes themselves are not all that healthy because they are a large amount of starch. I mean really, this whole recipe is saturated fat and starches.

There's really no healthy way to make this, and if you're trying for a healthy breakfast, this is not it.

  • y is the flour & sugar needed???

  • y is the flour, nd milk powder needed????

  • @dynomitechick21

It's mentioned up above in the "uploader comment" area that the milk powder is NOT needed. However the flour is used:

-to keep the hashbrowns from sticking to the wax paper

    -as a batter

-to keep it a little "lighter"

The milk powder is merely used to make it taste "creamier," and is unnecessary. The flour is necessary.

  • NICE HAIRCUT, BRO!

  • Does the potatoes have to be cooked first ?

  • What was the fifth ingredient??? Anyone know

  • @70drakula Look in the information box under the video. It tells you all the ingredients and measurements he uses.

  • I was hoping to find restaurant style onion rings....those are made with minced onions...I wanted to know other ingredients that make it stick together and forming the rings technique. thanks.

  • @BlissfulMary i think its flour and eggs that keeps it together

  • @BlissfulMary bingo, that sounds like the right things...I meant to say the commercial style onion rings found in the supermarket freezer...not the homemade ones. thank you.

  • awesome dude

  • I just did it awsome!!!wow>>I forgot to put flour but it was yummy!thankyou

  • i haven't got an egg to beat... will my wife do?

  • it's not an english accent dickhead it's aussie. and he is another dickhead for sure, being an aussie

  • What an annoying english accent!!!!!! GUYS!!! GUYS!!!GUYS!!! GUYS!!! GUYS!!! GUYS!!! GUYS!!! GUYS!!! GUYS!!! GUYS!!! Can't he stop saying GUYS?

  • @MrSantiago2812

    It's an Australian accent.

  • Great vid!

  • seems like a good method, guna give it a blast :)

  • No hash ?

  • @BartjeOstend that is illegal

  • @OurAlienFriends thats the fun part of it :)

  • Looks good, mate. I've been looking for this recipe. Time for breakfast in Akron, Ohio!

  • Aussie Grilla!!! hhahahahaha!!

  • isnt a baking sheet parchment paper and can you use a cookie cutter to cut it?

  • Do they taste like mcdonalds????

  • I am having this for brekfest

  • im making hash brown now ;) thanks for this video!

  • 33 thousandth viewer!

  • great job.

    From Canada

  • i dont have the powder:'(

  • Why are Aussies always the best cooks?

  • @Teenscenequeen98 because they say G'day

  • now. these are some hash browns

  • cheers aye carnt.

  • what is yellow thing that you named after the flour

  • Wow..this is like MacDonald hash brown! Love it!

  • Hey retreatchef, he had requests to make them..

Parboiling cooks them through,so they don't take long to fry.

Give the guy a break.. why the insults?

  • Yuck! How disgusting! How dead do you want them? boiled....then mashed, then frozen, then deep fried? Are you kidding me? WOW

  • I used Tin Foil instead of parchment paper.

  • horrible tutorial this dude really had me thinking this would freeze in 30 minutes -__-

  • what kind of potatoes did you use?

  • What if i don't have tracing paper what would i substitute for it?

  • Dude, your voice. It's like listening to a guy in a Radio!

    Awesome recipe BTW.

In most hash browns recipes the potatoes have to be grated but Parboiled style is better... It's like the ones at Mcdonalds!

  • I don't have skim milk powder...what about just skim milk?

  • I'm hungry now lol

  • ahhh accent XD

  • You are amazing man you remind me of my stepda

  • How hot should the oil be? It looks like you have a thermometer in it, so the temperature must be important, right?

  • i will try it it look really good~!!~!~~!~

  • i love cooking but i can't be arsed with all that.... i'll just get some frozen ones or pop down to maccy dee's! :o)

  • Are the potatoes cooked or just simply diced ????

  • What is the skim milk powder for? Do we really have to have it in the recipe? I don't have any skim milk powder and I really want to make this for breakfast tomorrow. ):

  • Hello! The skim milk powder makes the mixture taste creamier (is that a word? Lol). Much like milk in mashed potatoes. You can leave it out if you like.

  • @AussieGriller can we use regular whole milk?

  • @AussieGriller What temperature should the oil be? I don't cook a lot so I was just wondering =)

  • Gonna make it for sure :)

  • @Kana18gurl Glad you liked it :)

  • Ok. I am gonna make one big ass hash brown!

  • @needle444 Epic Hash Brown! :)

  • Can somebody tell me what's the difference between grease, tracing and baking powder? Thank you.

  • @candytoss To the best of my knowledge, tracing paper isn't used in cooking at all. Greaseproof paper is good for wrapping foods but has a coating on it that isn't oven resistant, so it can't be used for cooking. Baking paper though is great for baking, it stops things from sticking to trays.

  • @candytoss Greaseproof paper is impermeable to grease, water and oil, and is usually used as a food wrapper. After it gets to a certain temperature (75c or so) it becomes crumbly and useless. Baking parchment on the other hand is oven-proof and non-stick, so you can use it for baking things on. Tracing paper is paper partially dissolved in acid then dried and treated with chemicals to make it stronger and translucent. It has absolutely no qualities that make it suitable for food use.

  • @candytoss

Tracing paper is used for stationary applications

Greaseproof paper has a wax coating and as the wax will melt and the paper will burn it isn't suitable for cooking (or hot foods for that matter)

Baking paper is coated with silicon which is non-stick and highly heat resistant.

  • how long do i boil them for

  • @mobbsy1000 Depends on how small the pieces of potato are when you boil them. Basically boil until they start to soften in the middle. Use a fork to test them.

  • interesting!

  • your accent AND your food are awesome

  • @zebby2460 lol I hate my voice! Thanks :)

  • Comment removed

  • one person is an angry lion that hates potatoes

  • @XxEmo1997xX lol

  • omg, that look fabulous!

  • @jackdark666 Cheers mate

  • can we just grate the potatoes it seems tooo much to chop them into cubes...

  • @SilverFlower16 atleast you don't have to wash a grater afterwards

  • @SilverFlower16 You can but you won't get the same texture. Try it out though by all means!

  • OH. MY. GOD. How have I not subscribed to you before?!?!?! Your recipes are totally divine!

  • @Doshula Thanks!

  • can we microwave the potatoes halfway instead? thank you

  • @hellojellop I don't see why not :)

  • I have to be honest, I was a bit skeptical when I saw you add the flower and all the other bits, but they look amazing. *liked* Will give them ago at the weekend.

  • @Fantic1980 You're right, it's quite an extensive ingredients list, and doesn't taste great raw, because of this it took me a while to tweak this recipe. It works when cooked though. Hope it went well if you ended up making them :)

  • and then dice them up into small pubes like this xD ik he said cubes lol

  • @Dragonforcewannabe12 hahaha the captions!

  • I tried to make this following your recipe, but when I started to fry it, it had like 3 layers to it. So the first layer of the hash brown stuck to the pan and when I tried to take it out it was just some mushy potato inside D:

  • @Bellotaism i think u have to deep fry them

  • @elidabaybee973 Yes!

  • @Bellotaism Definitely best to deep fry them

  • awesome man, thanks !!

  • @rorstar83 Cheers mate NP

  • thanks mate!..now i can figure out whats on the base of making it...(the start from cubes and the flour)...and im thinking from these i do can improvise it into something else (i.e. mix the batter with grated dry cheese KRAFT, add crisp bacon cubes)..

  • @snutzerberry Mmmmm sounds good mate!
