Reference to HEYBUDD,
Since oil is pretty much necessary for resource and goods production, like food and cars, I'm guessing that most oil in the world is sold in dollars and controlled by the United States. So if U.S controls the oil market then they control the means of food markets, too, am I right?

You forget that the US can't afford most of the oil it imports. If the world would stop subsidising the USA for its overconsumption then there would be oil for everyone else.
