Her voice is beyond amazing , and all she can do with it is just EXTRA ordinary , but this rendition to me is not as felt as some of her other performances .

It s just showing off , which she does wonderfully but it gets tirering , to me it does at least , when i hear her sing stuffs like he lives , my jaw just drops ,but this is annoying way too many runs .

Mariah got a lot of her early stuff from Melonie AND kelly. If you know all their voices you can even pick out things mariah does that she got from Mel and from Kelly

Melonie Daniels is ALWAYS singing, since she was young. She sings gospel does not mean she does not sing as much as MC because it would seem obvious that because of her genre, she does a lot more singing, live on the spot singing. On the other hand, Mariah Carey has an entirely different voice, and the natural voice placement is the biggest factor for the change in voice with age. Too bad most people just assume it is primarily caused by singing "right" or "wrong".

I knew i was going to be hit for sayin that, the trouble is i'm seeing pretty much all gospel singers, doin this oh and circular singers doin gospel the same way, i suppose it's a spirit wave, Not anti range or trilling ,but is evrything permisible, anyway. 1 example, a drummer can play modestly and minister or he could go over the top and just bang the hell out of the drums.Anyway the gospel industry is competitive so it makes sense to kinda show ur "resume"

You are definitely entitled to have an opinion. But I wonder why you approached this with a comment of "omniscience?" You judged the singer's intention; which is almost impossible to determine. Melonie Daniels has a very wide vocal range. But her use of the entirety of her instrument does not denote entertainment, by default. She just knows how to use the gift GOD has given her. Your preference for simplicity shouldn't invalidate what doesn't fit into the box you've crafted for your own ears.
