  • its joe not eddy

  • Damn! This tune never gets old...

  • 2:01 - 2:07, the soundtrack of life

  • @MrAlexGTV lol me too. thats all i live for :D

  • Eggs SAtch VS Eddie FUCking VAn hAlen

  • 2:08 is such a Eddie Van Halen lick!!!!

  • I Get Goose Bumps every time I watch and LISTEN to this DVD. Thanks Joe !!!!

  • i want to be taught by that man ...

  • It's funt that my friend can play this note by note, but can't sound like Satch

  • @nissanit Playing this song is impressive, but one thing Joe is known for is his specific sound that hardly anyone out there can do.

  • Awesome player.... needs to ditch the Jumper and leather pants though...

  • joe satriani taught eddie van halen to play guitar...google it and look it up.greatness passed from one to the other

  • @ganspernanthy Sorry, that's a negative... Eddie was certainly not taught by the Satch, but Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett most certainly were.

  • @ganspernanthy Wrong dumb ass

  • i used to rate guitarists on a scale of 1 to eddy van halen. joe just broke that scale.

  • Stuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • killer riff.

  • he looks like Voldemort haha and he plays like a freaking monster

  • soooo bad accccee man

  • soooo bad accccee man

  • like the miz: 11 people dislike? really? really?

  • I love this DVD. It's great. A primer on technique. He's got the best pinkie in the business.

  • I love how Jeff just tears into it once Joe says what they're playing! No looking back. Kickass!!

  • /watch?v=Op44xYmzgRc

  • 2:28 ALIEN!!!

  • 11 dislikes WTF? Fuck off Beiver fans!!!!

  • @Warthogfan You could at least learn to spell the fucker's name before you pollute a Satch video with it.

  • @elysium735 Sorry if my humor is too subtle for you. Bieber, Biever, Beaver, pussy. There you go, spelled out for you.

  • @Warthogfan I before E except after...

No, I got it. It just wasn't funny. It wasn't clever. If your idea of "subtle humor" is scrawling "Beieiebber!!!! GAY!!!!!!' all over fucking youtube, then I sincerely hope someone sterilizes you.

Now if you called him Mustin' Biever, that would have been clever. You lack the foresight tho.

  • Comment removed

  • @SupernalOne Who do you think taught him?

  • @jhs5150 WHO TAUGHT HIM

  • @pussnhoot Satriani taught Vai.

  • @pussnhoot -- God . . . ?

  • que buen tema es increible la manera que tiene satriani de manipular la guitarra

    es un grande!!!!!!!

  • Most easily heard instrumental player by far. A musician for ALL music genres

  • @steelianos

I disagree. I think Buckethead is the most easily liked instrumental player. So many albums to chose from and each one sounds different. Just to give you an idea, he has been involved in over 50 instrumental cds writing at least 90% of everything in those cds. Well over 20 genres under his belt and he is a fluent player with all of them. That's just my cup of tea. The only people I have encountered that don't respect Big B are thick-headed buffoons that don't check him out.

  • the mistro

  • ONE M0:00RE TIME!

  • This guy Reminds Me Lord voldemort: he has the POWERRRRRRR

  • SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCH

  • he's not a robot, he's better

  • best rock song EVAH. With My World by the Sick Puppies being a possible exception

  • Joe makes it look so easy. Especially the tapping. I wish I had his talent.

  • @Jacobiskoby37 he practiced 15 hours a day for 5 years. I don't think many people have that much free time.

  • @ItachiUchiha953 i doubt that, with eating and sleeping and what have you, i knew someone who did 6 hours a day and i witnessed it, i dont care who said it 15 hrs a day just isnt true

  • @Taud I meant 13 hours. I'm pretty sure it was spread out. I have a tab book I bought at guitar center that has an interview with satch and he said so. He'd finished high school and he'd just moved to Berkley to attend the College of music there, and he'd also just gotten off a tour with some band.

  • @ItachiUchiha953 Yeah but these guys love to exaggerated their accomplishments, i seriously doubt he played for that long, there was brakes in between there with bathroom, coffee, food etc, no one has that much time in a day and than can still sleep and attend school at one of the most prestigious music halls and have their homework done

  • Loved it when it first came out, love it now. The man is gifted!

  • chuck norris listens to satriani

  • " stew would like to play the mystycal patatoe head thing."

  • I typed in 'Mr potato head' thinking i'd find mr potato head from toy story, but i instead stumble upon musical genius! THANK YOU CREATIVE SONG NAMES!

  • @Geophaser that musical genius is just the tip of the iceberg my friend

  • @Geophaser Thats a pretty random thing to be searching on youtube lol.

  • Joe creates his own Music Theory! Do music schools teach this?

  • THE MASTER SPEAKS AND YE ALL SHALL LISTEN

  • Man, if guitars could have orgasms, then his would be the luckiest in the world.

  • kurwy jebane reklamy wpierdalają

  • They look like OAKLEY shades

  • go voldermort

  • different layers of his guitar are eroded away due to his hand flapping across it repeadedly

  • :-)

  • no guitarist is better.

  • u have not heard this song for reall until uve seen it

  • his pedal board these makes his ones he used back then look like midgets haha

  • STUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • this reminds me so much maniac mansion on the regular nintendo

  • =^,^=

  • PANTS

  • 9 people don't know wtf is going on. LOL

  • Just saw Joe and his current mates at Strathmore hall in Maryland, amazing show.

  • this song makes me want to practice. i love those opening harmonics, well right after the intro. this man is a legend!!!!

  • @mikeyume1

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read your comment lol

  • @whatshendrix i first learned how to play the rythm part in the early 90s, but the leads are a whole nuther ballpark.....

  • @mikeyume1

Haha yep, yep. There are some very tricky runs and a whole lot of delicacy that is required.

  • Joe Is An Insane Guitarist!

But Im Sorry, They All Dress Like Total Faggots. :D

  • @TayzzScottBerr You type like a total faggot

  • This song is so goddamned addictive.

  • isn't this on "live in sa" or some other live album? i remember that "stu would like us to play the.."

  • Replay!! :D

  • I think that guitar needs a cigarette!

  • Rock on, Satch.....you compare to no other

  • This might be a stupid question, but, is this when Joe is in "Chicken Foot"?

  • @ipwnuall2 no.

  • this is the best live version, so melodic

  • I like the stage set up. Looks like an underground cave with man made environment, with the trees in the background. Futuristic.

  • fosho Satriani > Hendrix

  • Legendary... Satch's best song.

  • 9 people are upset that they can't fret tap like Satch.

  • its odd that one of my favorite songs has a weird name. guess that just shows a little tiny bit about me.. HE HE

  • Joe is the most underrated musician ever. I've never heard anyone outside a guitar magazine praise Satch for his greatness. In my opinion, he is surpassed only by God himself - Jimi Hendrix - in terms of songwriting ability.

  • The only thing Joe Satriani can't do is pull off leather pants in his mid 50's.

  • @thestig1214 yes he can!

  • @thestig1214 haha I was thinking the same thing lol

  • @thestig1214

it doesn't matter, he looks like he's 33, because he has no hair. :DDD he does, really.

  • I said booo-urns

  • Hey, he looks like Riddick... kind of.

  • what an amazing song this is i first heard this in 1990 and sounded futuristic then but melodic and beautiul...still sounds just as good today...

  • whats the werid semi circle thing under his pickups?

  • @theboywhocantollie its a clear pickguard

  • @theboywhocantollie

I think it may be a pick guard, as it would be extremely easy to scratch of the chrome work.

  • The Mystical Potatoe Head what now..?

Joe is either very deep or very high.

  • Go Joe Go!! Rockin the City!!

  • his music his so much more interesting and fun than some other of these so called 'virtuoso's'

  • joes first like at the begining just made me cum all over the keyboard. hes soooo GOOOOOOOD

  • One of the greatest riffs of all time.

  • The best guitarrist ever in Rock, Steve Vai does not even crate anything like this it all, Satriani still the teacher and the student has not surpass the MASTER lol

  • @vzuani the level those two are at is increadible, theres no point even comparing them, there both amazing in their own right

  • They are booing him because there was a concert where he waled up on stage, didn't like the setup and walked out. Nobody got their money back...That's what my guitar teacher told me a few years back anyways.

  • @headoyster Hey Dude. FYI .They aren't booing him there are "Stuing" him. That's Stu Hamm on the bass. One of the top guys at his profession. If your guitar teacher told you that and he wasn't fucking with you, drop him like a stone if you still use him because he's a fucking imbecile! Sox Fans at Fenway do "Youk" (which sounds like boo) for Kevin Youkilis.

  • is there anything this man doesnt know about the fret board ?

  • holy fucking shit that thing he did at 1:50 is insane!!!!

  • OMG, sorry to the guys underneath, but harmonics ar'nt hard and its not down to his pickups. You can get that shit out of an acoustic, no trouble.

What is impressive is that right hand clamping technique, very precise, very fast, very cool. Mwah XX

  • Joe said "They Stu him 'cause they love him".

  • i would have paid at least 2500 bucks to see that gig. sorry 4 dp

  • lol. lol is all i can say. he makes harmonics sound so easy- 5th frets par example after the first sweep!!!

  • Guitar harmonics are so frustrating to learn, yet he makes them sounds so easy! 1:14 and 1:25 are absolutely fucking epic. He deserves to be called a virtuoso.

  • It mainly because he has some kick ass pickups their even better that the emg zakk wylde edition

  • @KingOfBBQ ill admit pinch harmoics are hard to learn but once you move onto sweeping... it just gets crazy

  • @shredfix1993 They're not hard to learn, they're just hard to do cleanly on a consistent basis.

  • @KingOfBBQ are you talking about pinch harmonics or sweeping? pinch harmonics are easy once you get the hang of them

  • i can't believe thats a song name but what a kick ass song:P

  • who is that giy on 1:24 [on the left]? I've watched a lot of Satriani videos on youtube, but this is the first time I've seen him

  • eric caudieux

  • God hes good!

  • @ACdeanSEE DAMN STRAIGHT!

  • STUUUUUUUUUUUU

    Stu ham

  • "they are saying boooo-rns boooo-rns"

    (Smithers)

  • surprisingly this song has nothing to do with my name

  • @JoePotato28

Something to do with mine tho !

  • that riff he played before the song was Jimi Hendrix "here my train a comin"

  • why the hell are the boooing stuuuu ???

  • theyre not booing, they're Stu-ing

  • @wasp2020 half true half irony right?

  • @wasp2020 Smithers, why are they booing?

    they're saying boo-erns, sir, booo-erns, boo-erns!

  • @wasp2020 They stu him 'cause they love him.

  • they "Stu" him because they love him. They aren't booing!!

  • @kinggambitabc Cause he sucks... lol... naaaah joke he's great!

  • @kinggambitabc Stu Hamm on bass?

  • lol, boooo:p

  • OMFG this song makes me cry. its so beautiful!

  • BURN!!!! jk lol

  • Dollar General...............

  • where can i get his shades? imagine putting his on and suddenly being endowed with his guitar powers.

  • haha its not him shredding up there, it's those shades XD

  • Lol i could accept the baldness if i got his powers as well from the shades

  • @stimsWonderland

he stole his shades from Horatio ( CSI Miami ... YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH !!! )

  • @stimsWonderland the lights bother his eyes

  • @stimsWonderland I friggin WISH!!!

  • @stimsWonderland lmao!!! wow u r funny!! first time i read that one!!! XD

  • @stimsWonderland - look like Oakley's. I have the same pair and oddly... the spirit of Joe's Talents have not entered me through them.

    What a total burn.

  • @stimsWonderland Ask the guy who got his Hair :o!

  • @stimsWonderland yes..the power used to come from his hair, but had to forge that power into the shades when he cut it all off. I too would like a pair of those shades.

  • @stimsWonderland HAHA THAT´S FUNNY MAN

  • I want Joes Ibaneze its so cool

  • they sell remakes on Guitar Center for like 800$... then they have like 3000$ ones and a special edition really expensive one haha. I forget the price.

  • waaa otro nivel!!

  • one of the best songs ever writen

  • I used to cover this song in an instrumental band I was in. Toatlly fun and groovy to play!

  • Man, the only think I hate about these kind of DVDs is that they tend to not focus on the guitarist as much as you would want. They've got some really good moments of fretboard action, but I'd prefer if it was like that on all of the songs! Really helps you capture all of the amazing stuff Joe does.

  • i agree with you dude, like at 0:59 that should be the most important thing at that momento but the camera is focus on the whole band

  • AHAHAH those guys have such tasty groove!

  • totally sick skills

  • peerfeect...

  • why are they screaming "buuu" ?

  • They are saying "STUUUU".

The bassist's name is Stu Hamm.

  • ok ok

  • @wasp2020 yep the best in the world!!

  • They are chanting Stuuu.. for Stu Hamm the bass player

  • @MusicMonkeysAreAlive they're not they're screaming Stu ( Stu Hamm)

  • nothing was cooler than seeing this for the first time live at g3

  • dude!! those harmonics at 1:13 are insane!! love it!!!! kinda reminds me of the Mario coins at 1:15

  • I like Love Thing better

  • por que al bajista de joe satriani lo pifean?? en el g3 en minnesota de 1997 también lo pifean

  • no lo pifean, corean STU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • el dopela la tiene clara

  • this is the best version of this song XD

  • I know, right? I've listened to the other versions and there as not as "Mystical" as this version!

  • I like the G3 live in Denver version of this song best actually...

  • when satch puts his strumming hand on the neck like at 1:50, what does he actually do???

  • muting the strings for the arpeggio, so no oher notes ring into it
