Funny movie the Indians want their land back if we dont pay them so we host a Telethon to save America in this day it would be China yikes but it is funny a good, family film and enjoyable the late John Ritter and Harvey Korman are great as usual

oh i adore this song......this should have been a HUGE hit for the guys. the song is perfect. i remember flipping over it as a kid in "79". awesome lyrics, fantastic melody (i love that there are actually 3 different little melodies and all of them are A-1 steak sauce). can't believe this tune never charted. the beach boys are so wonderful. they have so many terrific songs that not enough people have heard.

Like Bladerunner and Saving Silverman, Americathon was bang-on as not only political satire but also prophecy! This is a great song... to what will one day be acknowledged as a cult classic of American film!

The movie is prophetic in many ways: country's going broke, recumbent bicycles, Vietnam's looking good, everybody's wearing Nike...Beach Boys and Elvis Costello. What's not to like?

I still maintain that had Columbia promoted this as they should have, this was a huge hit for The Guys--it's perfectly done, especially Carl's gorgeous vocal. Wolfsky9

@schmidtdeangallery I should probably watch it again. It's been quite awhile since I've seen it. Saw (and hated) "Nashville" about the same time and I LOVE that movie.
