  • Ok, since when the fuck did a bandaid, floss, and a L.E.D light save someones life? Sounds more like a terrible trip to damn dentist to me.

  • that is 1 ft

  • god i hate one upper wannabes soch a survivalst poser im not

  • I like the video but have a couple suggestions just within the initial viewing. 1. don't use your knife blade for striking your ferro rod unless you can fit a sharpening stone in your kit. 2. your flashlight idea is neat but doesn't seem very accessible. Maybe think about getting a smaller lighter so you can throw your hank of cordage into your kit. Throw a striker in there as well and maybe a small LED key chain light that rests on top of your kit. Just my 2 cents.

  • I'm glad everyone is including aspirin in their awesome "Altoid Survival Kits". You'll need them when the headache starts - when you realize what a stupid piece of crap you're hoping will save your life: string, a band-aid, birthday candles, tinfoil, Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • I think that was speed in the second dime bag

  • 1:23 dime bag do u do drugs O.o

  • nice video dude

  • you are an idiot. When ever you have to open this tin you have to take that 60feet of thread off.....

  • please stay at your house...don't leave it...you can't do anything outside of it!!!!

  • Not bad for your first run, but I'd find a better way to carry your cord, and the kit needs to be in a waterproof bag or pouch. Altoids tins are great for adding structure to a survival kit, but they just don't hold enough gear.

  • when your using the flint and knife use the spine of the blade so you dont dull the shit out of your knife

  • Comment removed

  • this kit is sooo wrong

  • By the time you're done unwinding the string on the outside. . .

It's suddenly pitch dark around you.

    Your fire has gone out.

Your fingers are all now frost bitten.

And the grizzly behind you has already bit your head off.

    :P

  • Put the tin inside the ziploc and use rubber-bands to secure it into a water-tite bundle.

  • I came here for weed... still watched it though.

  • where did you buy those little zip lock bags, they are grea for keeping small items organised and together.

  • @96mrluke Try arts/craft section in discount stores, dollar or buck stores, Walmart, or Craft shops were they specialize in bead work etc.

  • Hey J.!

Got stuck the other night watching several YouTubers showing off their Altoids kit concepts. I thought yours was excellent with the loose LED element plus separate battery cell close to brilliant!

I even spent some secs thinking abt. improving by adding a mini binder clip to make it hands-free. But then it dawned on me: If you're thrown into perfect darkness you wouldn't have the sensitive/tactile skills to fidget around with too many pieces. So you better add a mini LED flashlight.

  • So you need this kit lost wet cold and wrapped in string and packed into the smallest bags known to man I hope you survive.

  • A altoids tin is to small for a survival kit better made into a fire kit .Get a fanny pack to make a survival kit and wear it at all times when hiking cause you my lose your pack

  • Doubt you would ever need a swivel in a survival situation, and braided line is 3-4X stronger than the mono-filament, but has the same diameter for space concerns. So you would get 40# strength, and that IS good for tying things...10# is not. Otherwise nice kit. I like the space saving you did with the LED light by separating the parts from the housing. Oh yeah, if it were me I'd ditch the bandaids and add a packet or two of antibiotic ointment. Really, what good is a bandaid? really?

  • That trick candle was really clever nice vid

  • Thats what she said

  • Vagfinder but you half to wait 30 seconds before you can blow it out

  • Wow you said there is a yard of tap around the batterys there isnt even a foot of tape sherlock

  • nice fishing kit addition. haha aspirin. i never used those.srsly 50 ft of detal floss?

Idea to pack more in: take out the lighter and only include the lighter head... it is great for sparking the dryer lint.

idea 2: put some duct tape in it. at the botom... like some square sheets of it shouldn't take up 2 much room, but find a way where it won't stick to anything like put an adhesive guard on it... square sheets of duct tape has its uses!

good for fishing if u are near a body of water.

  • Ok try this bro.... Wrap cotton string around a little tiny rod then like.... tie it to the can or pack it inside. would suck if u needed to open it fast and accidentally lost the string out of hastiness in a high spot, or if u need somethign inside and cannot bear to unravel 60 ft of string and geti t cluttered.

  • no offence but everybody says their kit is the best because of what they will need

  • hey i have that shirt lol

  • get a waist bag men!! dont make your life harder..

  • The kit sucks because you cant get into the kit easly because of that damn string and plus i bet you couldnt do half the things you say you could with the string

  • Um not the best because you need duct tape.

  • not the best kit ever. don't waste ur time here viewer. skip to the ranger one.

  • NEeds a bag of weed and that aluminum

  • lost in the wood and then i feel like fishing. good thing i have fishing hooks.

  • great vid by the way, this is by far the best can i have seen...i like your idea about wrapping it up with cotton string, could be very usefull

  • why not have 2 altoid cans......carries more and can fit in cargo shorts/pants

  • you can poke a hole in the tin, and use it to make char cloth too.

  • @chromelleader21 then put the tin in one of your bigger bags, ducttape it, and voila, still water proof. '-))

  • why do you need the flint to start a fire with, thats what the lighter is for

  • @ninjagonnagitcha the lighter could run out of fuel

  • what the hell are you going to use the pencil for......... well we are officially lost..... oh wait i haft to draw a picture first??? i mean what the hell and you cant use it to draw a map of where you are because your fucking lost!!

  • @ninjagonnagitcha Ah, ROFLMAO your too much ! LOL... ;-)) . did you not hear him, he said he was bored..so he made a survive in a tin kit. !! LOL. Settle down Pajama dude. LOL

  • your lighter is way too big just saying but good tin

  • where the fuck are the Altoids??????? You ate all the fucking altoids???? you make me sick!

  • @567hook LOL !!

  • This kit sucks

  • this video help alot

  • You should get a pill bottle at walmart or somewhere and duck tape it to the side to put asprin or whatever in

  • This is all for 1 Hiking trip?

  • thats awsome

  • everyone else is wrong because, mine's the best. they're saying the same thing. this comment will get random thumbs up.

  • if it fits in, include a poncho or a space blanket. it looks like you've got no shelter in there

  • Cool vid, but if you want more ideas of what to put in it (I MEAN LOTS MORE STUFF) search the ultamate pocket survival kit and click the one with the green case.

  • You should wrap electrical tip around the edges to waterproof it plus you can use the tape to waterproof stuff later.

  • Nice kit

  • nice dime bags

  • @coinzzilla ur awesome and i think ima barfin hippo

  • why wrap all that line on the outside? look how long it takes you to take it off, then you have a huge mess of line laying around! whats better is a small 550 paracord keychain hooked to the outside that doesnt hinder the opening of the tin, plus a 550 cord keychain is small and has 5 times the cordage you have there..and its self contained. If you say this is the best pocket tin...you might want to get rid of that mess on the outside and just use a few ranger bands (or thick rubberbands).

  • Rubberbands are useful too....maybe you could put them on the outside of it

  • immodium instants for the runs fantastic

  • use lighter line or u wont fell the line cos u dont have a float so u wont get no fish and die or something

  • tubing would be good

  • hav fun wrapping tht back up wen ur done this video

  • you forgot to put in a whistle =)

  • couldn't you use the string as fishing line also

  • why 60 Ft of string. you probably have to spend a half an hour just to put the string back on

  • what was the nail for?

  • nice idea with the trick candle

  • nice u should try to make the box wateer tight

  • Nice dope bags ya crack head

  • Good stuff man! Everybody wants to carry fishing gear in their little kits while on a day hike or EDC. Chances are you won't be lost long enough to get that hungry. I try to concentrate on ways to be found and protect from exposure in case I have to spend a night out. Of course, this makes my kit bigger than yours... can't fit emergency blanket, poncho and trash bag in the can. Good idea on the trick candle and simple flashlight... adding those to my kit. Thanks for sharing!

  • Soooooooooo shit

  • boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooboooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooboooooooooooooooooooooooooooooboooooooooooooooooobbbbboooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I like how all your kit is made of little weed baggies. It like you converted a smoking kit into a survival kit.

  • where is the matches

  • small compass?

  • And*

  • Very good anf thurough!!!

  • One of the little baggies needs to have an emergency supply of weed.

  • get a poket knife with a key ring and a small clip attached to it.... you can easily get it when you need it and you have more space....

  • All that stuff but no whistle?

  • 1:23 fishing kit, huh? looks like some natural medicine to me.

  • @djzadjza you need a tiny piece of gauze that badly and you would die in eight seconds? Are you kidding me? If a piece of gauze is that small it couldnt mean the difference of life or death epspecially if you need it within eight seconds

  • not the best (because mine is better just as you said) but certainly not the worst, thanks for some ideas to modify on mine!

  • What happens when u have to get to the gauze or something else extremely urgently. Then u have to unwind the sting which took you about 8 seconds. 8 seconds can make a life or death difference. Get PARACORD and don't wrap the tin in anything unless it's one rubberband just to hold it shut.

  • break the damn knife

  • ok thats a good tin I would get paracord instead of the cotton cordage

  • I think that u r right. That is the best that I have seen.

  • your isnt the best..... at all......... you dont use cotton cordage when you have paracord available period.

  • Comment removed

  • nice kit....wrap the fishin line around a match..or a nail and put tape on the nail as well

  • sweet kit, i like the fishing line because the pound test is close to 30lbs and it's thinner and more pliable than fishing line of the same strength

  • get a lighter with a led light built into hahahah so your kit is not the best....!

  • mine is way better

  • Most of the stuff is not bad

And if you know how to use it the mini survival tin can and will save your life

Just match the kit to where you are going be it hiking, canoeing, camping what ever

It dose not have to be BIG with a lot of crap you don't need

The most important think is to know where you are going and how to get out

And your kit is there in case you don't get out or can't it is not for long term just over night or so

  • is okay

  • I got to agree with markshmily, never trust your survival to a tiny tin can. Get a cordura bag 4 times that size and load it with quality stuff to carry in a cargo pocket.

  • Best ever? Don't make me laugh!

Never skimp on tools.. a good knife, a good saw, a stainless steel bottle, a tarp and some paracord would do much better.

  • yours is the best

  • i can tell u now that that is NOT the best survival tin and u should replace your aspirin with paracetomal and yor dryer lint with petroleum jelly cotton wool balls and get a proper fire steel

  • YOURE THE FIRST ONE I SEEN TO ACTUALLY PUT A COMPASS IN THERE,,SOME OTHER SMART STUFF ALSO..AS FAR AS LIGHTERS GO,,ABABY BIC FITS REALLY WELL AND LEAVE ROOM FOR MORE STUFF,BUT ITS NOT ADJUSTABLE..GOOD THINKING

  • that was definitely NOT the best altoids kit. for you, maybe, but i would feel ripped off if i ordered that from a dealer.

  • *is drowning in a lake* give me the damn asprin!

  • take a magnifying glass!

  • wow I definately a good kit. also very clever on the "trick" candle. if possible you may want to try to get a smaller lighter is possible. no big deal though. oh and what is the pencil for?

  • hi when did you get water tablets your

  • Lol @ 1:22 I thougth you were going to take out some pot.

  • @alexb2256

i know! those are like little dime baggies. thats what i would carry, and a pipe, and a lighter, and.....some more pot

  • omfg

  • the one little bag that you miss was the one with weed

  • These survival tins are shite, you are ruining John "lofty" Wisemans idea, you and all bushcrafters are a bunch of dirty WANKERS!!

  • @MRJSNLA1 and when your in the woods and are dieing and need this survival kit i hope a bear rips out your fucking rib cage you douche :)

  • Nope not the best jus Wana brag but it's smart about d LEDs n batry

  • u suck

  • I'll add 2 safety pins too for repairing clothes.

Hope my comments help you a few..

  • half of the metal wood and fitting itin the dental floss sachet by compress it, adding MORE water tabs like 8/10 range it isn't good to remove drugs from their protection too, use half of the pencil, don't forget a piece of paper too, remove 2 birthday candles and keep the "funny" birthday candle (i prefer to use a piece of air chamber from a cycle; burns well and longer, ideal to transport fire). Perhaps, i'll fit the dental floss and the compass in the metal wire loops, for saving storage.

  • Good suggestions. Air chamber from a tire?

I might replace the lighter with some waterproof matches and have more room for more stuff.

  • Hi, by air chamber for cycle, i mean: it's like a black sausage in the tire where you add air, sorry for english, i'm french. It's in black rubber.

  • @blacksmithju he means inner tube from a bike, pretty cheap at walmart, you can get like 27 " for 5 bucks, look up a video for "ranger bands" and thats what your looking for,its pretty good for keeping your kit closed too

  • @blacksmithju u r right he does need some waterproof matches

  • @blacksmithju you are way smarter than i am lol

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb ccccccccccccccccccccc dddddddddddddddddddddd eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee fffffffffffffffffffffff ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

  • Clever one.

To let so much cotton wire around the tin can kill the concept of the storage. I mean it isn't a rule but seems all agree to let a couple of rubber bands or tape to tightly secure the box. It's a detail sorry, i saw so many stuff around the box that's why...

Ok, my point of view of your tin:

i'll replace the gaz with an alcohol pad in sachet, more compact, versatile for cleaning wounds or firestarter. I'll remove 1 asprin,
