Im 12 years old and i've had my male guinea pig since i was about 8 years old. Im getting worried about him. Hes been having abnormally large poops. And every now and a again i'll hear him squeak oddly, Like he's sort of uncomfortable. Now I think he's starting to have diarrhea Or its either his pee making the poop soft and It squishes down. Does anyone have any advice why he has large poops? Or anything that will help him be more comfortable or maybe help him?

I'm planning on adopting a Guinea Pig soon. I have a few qestions.

1. Does your pet absoluley need to go to an exotic vetranarian or a regular vet where they treat most animals?

2. Since Guinea Pigs a socialable animals, do i need to adopt two?

3. Am I able to find the vitamin C pills at my local pet store?

4. My dad likes to play lots of loud music! Should I move my pet away from his room to another place? I was planning on placing his cage in my room. But his music is close to my room.

no not in most cases you can adopt one but give it plenty of attention

not pills but you can by bottles of vitiman c liquid at the pet store to put a few drops in the water thing everytime you refill it

and with the music thing I suggest on keeping her in your room and politely ask your dad if when he wants to play music to put the guinea pig cage in another room in a safe place

hi. I'm a guinea pig lover and I have 3 guinea pigs 2 were male and 1 female, but 2 of them died, I don't know why. they don't last for 1 month, and now I have another one, but now i'm worried because they're foots are swollen, and they become weak soon. pls help me.

my guinea pig had a seizure last month and another one just now he had convulsions not due to mites or parasites. he has history or upper respiratory infection and now he is having seizures that last 20-60 seconds our vet doesn't know whats it is and don't think has much experience with guinea pigs. can someone piont me in right direction

I have a question. My guinea pig won't eat the food that I give her. When I give her pellots, she'll eat a smidge but always knocks it over, when I give her fruits and veggies she'll only eat a smidge but basically ignore it. The only thing that that she will eat is the newspaper at the bottome of the box, the bedding and she''ll chew on the box. But mostly the newspaper. She does eat timothy hay. She'd sometimes knock down the water. Why does she do this and how can I stop her from doing this.

@Princess11311 hey my guinea pig was the exact same way she lost her sister and now she wont eat. Did you house the guinea pig with something? (another guinea pig.) Maybe your guinea pig needs a play mate. If not im sorry but i have no other advice.

@juicy9596 Well, it doesn't matter anymore anyway. Just recently on April the 2nd she died from some mysterious illness. Her right side had gotten swollen and she had gotten very weak to the point that

I had to hold her so she won't fall and hold her head up so she won't suffocate. If only I knew what this mysterious illness was. But thanks anyway. SAD FACE.

@SuperBirdA Thanks for your kindness. That's when I found out from the vet that guinea pigs often get diseases and don't live too long after that. That's why next time I'm going to get something that can last for a long time like a dog. Besides the only thing left to do was to take her to the vet and put her to rest so she wouldn't have to go through all of that pain. But it was too late.

If you have just got your guinea pig, she might be a little timid; give her some time and I'm sure she'll start to eat. Is the water in a bowl? You should always have your water in a bottle; if you have the water in a bowl, it can spill over and cause dampness/mould/etc.

Infact...I struggle to find any actual usable advice in any of her videos.

ATTENTION ALL GUINEA PIG OWNERS!

If you use wood chip bedding (aspen/pine) then this might help you in the long run.

my guinea pig (2 year old male) has had mites from the bedding or possibly from the pet store he is from (petland) so the vet bill was about $125 so i highly reccomend recycled paper bedding or newspaper (lining the bottom or in strips) mites cause itching/scratching leading to bleading and scabs/hair loss in certain patches of irritation.

@JasmineChannel Petland is the worst place to buy animals. They are all sick. Every single animal I've bought from there has gotten deathly ill and still ended up dying after I took them to the vet.

i think that would be fine, they rarely bite and are somewhat easy to take care of, they are kind of startled easily so make sure he/she knows how to hold it and make sure there arent any other pets near (besides other guinea pigs)

If your guinea pig doesn't like oranges you can get vitamin c tablets which you put in their water and it just dissolves. Also some guinea pigs love the taste.

if you feed your guinea pig parsley they can get lots of vitamin c. plus it is one of their favorite treats!!! most pigs dont like oranges.
