  • Is this infrared technology disturbed by, let's say, infrared remote controllers?

  • @ninjaroger

Thank you for the question. Until now we did not find any IR emitter (including RC controls and bright sunlight) that disturbed our touch.

  • Why is it so horrendously slow? The dots are lagging behind the fingers like half a second.

  • @dannyoscarkip

    Two reasons for lag:

    1) The visualization application is programmed not very well (we are hardware engineers ;) )

    2) This video was made with the very first prototype, meanwhile some time is passed and we are achieve update rates well above 50 Hz, so no lag any more :)

We also have a complete range of products available now, from 24" up to 65", including a Quad Full HD ( = 3840 x 2160 pixel) 56" resolution monitor.

  • He acts like a magician. Lol

  • is this company publicly traded?

  • No, Citron GmbH is a privately owend company.

  • Why is he wearing gloves?

And why is he in a soundproof room?

  • Gloves are not required, but used for two reasons:

    1) It looks cool and we wanted to cite a little bit of "Monty Pyhtons - Man puts tape-recorder up his nose"

    2) We wanted to show that our touch ovelay works with gloves, too. This is not the case with all touch technologies.

    Regarding the "sound proof room":

This is actually our EMC chamber. We used this place for the cool technical look, and because it was the only spot large enough and tidied up enough to make the video :-)

  • Looking good.

Interesting to mention that Snowflake Suite from NUITEQ is working on the Citron platform.

  • heh! ok then! :D well if 46'' TV is about £600-800 then i guess with the multi touch it will be around £2000 lol..or less or even more i really dunno cuz 46'' is big for me i got only 32''.. so :D yeah!!

  • this is so cooll!!!! imagine u put iphone on it!! that would be 46'' new iphone :D and make calls as well ha!! yeah! but HOW MUCH is it gona be? I bet it would be really really really really expensive ! please answer me i wanna know HOW MUCH!!!!

  • We do not have a final price, since this is still a prototype. But we plan to sell that touch well below the current price of a decent FTIR touch system.

  • and how much would be that?

  • Ahh, you got me ;-)

I thought I could get away without naming a real number :-P

Honestly we do not have an idea for how much we will sell this touch in the near future. So I can't and won't name any number here in this channel. Hopefully you can accept this answer an stay patient waiting some weeks until our sales people made up their mind and come out with a price.

  • Very interesting!!!

  • why it is so slow?

  • its the very first prototype and more a technology demonstrator. We have choosen a very flexible, but slow processing interface to be able to make a lot of changes to the algorithm. Now we know what has to be computed and we are working at a much faster version right now. Soon we will reach more than 50 frames per second and a fast response.
