It's incredible how much of this score made it into parts 2 and 3. Especially during the wickedly long chase scene with Chris. Where she comes at Jason with the knife and then in the barn when she says: "you can't be alive!" etc.

@steveee1993 Part 3 only had the disco music as an orignal song, this was previously recorded for part 1, and part 3 just recycled it. But That's okay. If you notice the beginning of the song is from Part 4
I'm home alone tonight while my parents are out to see a play. I'm going to take a shower but I keep thinking of Marcie in the girls bathroom right before she gets the ax.
It's just as Carpenter said...."you take the music away from the film and it just isn't scary" Undoubtedly, Harry Manfredini's amazing Score had a lot to do with Friday's huge success!! Awesome!! Having the intuition to come up with the brilliant, signiture Ki Ki Ki, Ma Ma Ma on synth to throw into the mix ....just amazing!
@MusicalProstitute77 True, but it's not "Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma", that's just a dumb fanboy claim. It's really just a sound Manfredini used to give the film an eerie atmosphere, much like what Hermann did with the shower scene in Psycho, the "wreee wreee wreee wree" sound.
@cheapcape Harry Manfredini himself has said that it's "Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma" so i'm afraid it isn't just a dumb fanboy claim after all. He took inspiration from the close-up shot of Mrs. Voorhees saying "Kill her mommy! Kill her!", taking the Ki from kill and the Ma from mommy. There's a video up on youtube where he talks all about it.
Hey, where did you get all of the music from Friday the 13th 1980? I have been looking for it. Please get back to me as soon as possible, it would be awesome to find this music!!!

Very nice but Bernhard Herrmann is the master. PSYCHO Score is the root of this soundtrack

Harry Manfredini is a musical genius. This music was crucial to the success of the film and really does generate quite a bit of tension and suspense.

I'm not sure about that... Halloween was too damn good.

That's tough to say... but I would have to give it to Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Black Christmas.

Love the music & the remake music too although i haven't really seen that movie yet. Looks badass though, expecially with Jason's killings.
