I've got an BMW 520 from 1984 with 320000 km....but I've to say, it doesnt run any great.....does anybody know a way to make it run better, Without the life of the engine is in danger?
I have been taking it always to workshop official BMW, and passing all the periodic reviews ...... but it must be that the engine this is getting older...
yeah...was THE love of my life so far...I just loved it soooo much!!! It was hell of a car...just sheer fun driving in this car!! Had a 525e but I couldn't afford it any longer, because for passing the TÜV I had to replace all the suspension and and parts of the rear axle...was too much for a student.
Old and good car, got a 1981 528 myself, I love it, I can't afford tires to play on the tarmac but when the winter comes I dance from corner to corner with it, it is so easly controled and so responsive, and confertable at the same time.
I love my car too. :) 200,000km, 20 years old, thrashed daily . . . still running strong. Oh and if the video didn't confirm that, it does drift very well indeed.
My `84 533i has 188,000 miles (302,680km) and has been a daily driver for 9 years - and yes, it's driven in the snow, with premium snow tires. Never tracked, or drifted - would be cool to do some day. Your car has a lot of life left in it at only 124,000 mi. Good luck.
The E28...a pure driver's car - RWD and no traction systems. Great handling, sweet sounding inline-6, balance, durability, practicality and full of character.
Just picked one up 2 weeks ago. Love the thing but now its having charging issues. Sigh...

mine is a 520i 07/85, currently 275.000km... few rpm till engine heated up, but then really very well to ride...
Even in the winter, it has ABS, and that´s more than I need.. ;-)
Oh yes, new gas-record: 8,5 litres / 100 km (~33.2 MPG)
