i think u guys r missing the point on the album it doesnt have an american sound its just stronger drums n so forth the reason the album didnt do so well as w/alot of bands now a days is everyone is downloading for free off the interrenet so the album sales r super low....if ur a real H.I.M fan each album has a differnt sound n they take risks that most bands dont H.IM IS THE MOST AMAZING BAND OFF ALL TIME N THEY HAVENT RECIEVED THE RECONITION THEY SO FREAKIN DESERVE!!!!

He is so right. I agree that a second album would be harder. Also today one can download everything without paying a cent. It makes it so hard for bands that are well known and have a large (yet not abnormal) fan base to survive. I hope these guys will keep on playing. I really like their sound. And I love how Ville is a fan of 80's rock and metal. Respect.

I can only dream of H.I.M coming to Israel :(

All HIM albums sound different, and all of them are great. I get so sick of people saying it should sound like their favorite HIM album, why would you want them to make the same album twice? And poppier doesn't necessarily mean more commercial, so all of HIM's critics can go fuck themselves!

Ville Valo is the most talented musician i've ever known. He writes with such passion and heart. True meaning in all his songs. I had the pleasure of seeing H.I.M in concert in april during their Screamworks tour. It was beyond great. Best concert i've been to, and i've been to alot. I pray H.I.M will be around for a very long time.

We just saw them finally after meeting Ville 17 yrs ago before all this, and they were all so lifeless, i was hopeing for a Venus Doom versatile, but got a tired, worn, band just doing the do. he did see me and smile, but other than that you could be forgiven if you would think that they have just finished a massive tour. On an inside interview he commented that there is a very good chance that Screamworks is their last. Plus i tottally agree that they have sold out to America. So sad really.

Not every1 is gonna like this album by any means. At first i thought 'why american','why Matt producing but im a big fan of that almost cheesy american 80's drumming you know with the kick and boom style almost pop rock. Inspired by Depesh, G N' R, the Cult. To me that sounds like RR but opting for GNR style Guitar instead of the Black Sabbath, going for more upbeat rythims & hooks ala'Depesh Mode'. im a big fan of Goth & Doom Metal but this ain't gonna "blow" by any means. ...Hopefully

He is not trying to be clever and make money. Ville likes to try new things from mixing together different types of music from his past. If you think he lives in a mansion in the caribbean, you should watch some interviews.

He lives in a flat in Helsinki I think, nothing special. He does it for his passion for music and the need to express himself in different ways.

This album is going to blow, there are some tracks up here on youtube from their live show in Finland I believe. I heard three of them, and they were horrible, in my opinion. This album is not even close to what was Venus Doom, Love Metal, and Razorblade Romance. I know that a band is supposed to evolve, but this was an evolution I wish they would have avoided. Not really, I mean "Heartkiller" has a few quirks here and there but ultimately out of everything I've heard that one is probably the most solid track I've heard thus far. What I am saying for sure is that "Scared to Death", "Love, the Hardest Way", and "Shatter Me With Hope" are defiantly not that good in my opinion. They all seem to lack that strong vocal line and good composition that HIM has had for years. I don't know I just feel like this album is going to be weak, but who knows.
