  • Truth bro! Thats for damn sure.. I always play what i want every gig & thats cause i go with the flow of the crowd.. A request can most of the time ruin the vibe from a packed dance floor everyone goin to sit down.. But all the haters about using serato instead of real vinyl needa realize its just a convienience.. A DJ to me is being able to control the crowd the entire night with the music, not just playing songs..

  • hey thanks for the talk man i only started mixing 3 years ago now and everything you have said makes sense . I sold my cdj's and bought some technics turntables i only have about 100 records they are expensive so invested in sl3 there are so many haters in this world and its put me off "cheating"...as some will call it and now i don't know which way to go . peace

  • I agree with everything you just said. I do mobil DJing and I do clubs. I'm grateful to be doing both and anybody who disses the other should sell their turntables.

  • Daym you really came correct of how djing is.. from past to now.. silly I really wanna do a video like this.. but you took most of the words out of my mouth.. haha but im gonna do one soon.. great video!

  • man really i agree even tho not all but for the most part most dj dont wanna help you out man, like i said in other post, i been mixing for 5 years now and i did do some mobile work and literally like two club gigs, i actually prefer club gigs but the only reason i am not in clubs right now is for well main reason being school, but also beacuse i dont have the connectios and when i hit up average djs they act liek they the best ones in the city and dont hook you up or give you a chance, smfh

  • i've done a complete 180 degree turnaround from the start of my dj career to now.. I wanted to battle every dj i met, if he could mix better than me i would get em' with my scratching, if he could scratch better than me i would get em' with my tricks. If he could mix scratch and do tricks better than me i'd pull mi pistola on his ass and take his shit .. word up. But now that im older and MUCH wiser i just wanna have fun and enjoy myself and share my experiences with other.. Peace out holmes..

  • Yeah man I feel you. I hate when people come up and ask for songs I am like you get one and your done!!!! If you want to choose the music for your event use a ipod not a DJ. I have been doing this so long I remember the ASS DJ's the best gear and couldn't mix to save their lives.....WACK

  • @djcoolyg FOR REAL!!! Thanks for the comment bruh.

  • Sometimes you got to be an ass on the request thing. Some people think that just because you're a DJ; you're supposed to have every song that was ever made, lol.

  • @DiskJockeyRisk Aint that the truth!!!! AMEN!!!

  • I agree with you man am in the same situation as you am doing mobile right now trying to get a better knowledge of different types of music and now am trying yo get in the clubs

  • Good video bro. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • hahaha from the best dj to the worst dj .!! lol that shit happens to my all the faking time.!

  • You guys are talking about hIp hop djs , its completly different for djs playing electro and house music

  • Soory dude your wrong about that. I know a whole bunch of hip hop dee jays and turntabilist andsome of those guys are really cool and down to earth.. And I also know alot of House / Electro deejays that swear they are Gods gift to us all... Really full of themselves...

HIP HOP / HOUSE.... Some DJ's are just cocky for no reason

  • nah sonn yor rong im just hatting lol J/K true on that i know few of them too and some of cool but others god damnnn they think there the ishh

  • Grumpy, You going to the Youtube DJ's live West Coast event?

  • i dont think soo i got some real problems on my life i even had to sale my equiptment i hope i would but i dont think soo but soon i will get back on djing i even got problems with the imigration so yeah serious problems but i seen all the videos there great i hope next year i go over there to the north east

  • also to add to my previous statement, anyone can play music..anyone...people that start off with serato or any of those programs and dont pay dues by spinning actual vinyl and carrying crates to gigs are NOT djs..theyre people who play music...i spent 16 years trying to learn the art to play the turntable as an instrument but then you have these kids that try to come out saying theyre djs cause theyre moms bought them serato...its not right..EVERYONE HAS TO PAY DUES. thats just how it is

  • I agree with most of your points but you can't blame the younger generation for not using Vinyl...

  • @gilboogie yeah u have to im 17 but i started with LP's and gonna die with LP's

  • @orbitz have you ever used serato???? I don't think you understand what it's all about.

  • partyspecialists...i agree with you partially...a lot of djs are asses and a lot of us have bad egos...but at the same time..were not just entertainers..were not people in the background..were artists..im a turntablist / mobile dj myself. and i dont like to think of myself as just someone to play music. i mean our profession takes years of practice and you know that. i feel when people say that, it cuts me short of what ive been doin..just to kinda clear that up

  • I agree with what you are saying most DJ are asses they have this really bad ego and thing they are the shit.

I am mobile DJ and the spotlight should be on the client we are entertainers thanks for posting this video we can all learn from each other.

  • On point. Guys starting today have no idea how good they have it. I am going to post a video I did about some local haters. Too funny.

  • funny but real talk about those itches steppin while your throwin down and doin your thing.. gotta put em in check Gil! hahaA... big ups to you homie and dope vid.

  • Nice video Bro,nothin' but love here!

    Thanks.

    DjBizzyb53

  • Very true...

  • Nice for pointing these people on blast...I always thought dj's were the only type of people or artist that had a unity where no negativity is brought to our community...but I was wrong!

I got love for all dj's! I'm 26yrs old and I've been djing since I was like 10-11. I use to sneak couple scratches when i was young while my brother was a mobile dj.

But i would never use a ipod to DJ!

  • Real talk!!!

  • woo respect for this ;)

    you're totally right!

There so many crappy dj's out there that say, hey i'm a dj, but they only used virtual dj one time...

i look forward to seeing your next video!

  • Good speech, mate. Respect to you for sure.

  • Nice video mr boggie!

    mm

  • Great vid gil... everything nicely said!!! Thumbs up man!

  • Get em!! =]

  • yeap you right man and there are alot of those dj's they think they are better than you or " i got better equipment than you " shit like that man, fucking haters

  • Wow bro you took me back. Yea agree regarding the Dj being ass. Some of them has a huge ego problem.

  • Hater...lol

  • your so right...u dont know how many times ppl be asking me for requests like every 5 min and its always aventura lol...than sometimes i will meet djs that will never tell me the name of the songs but once im playing a song that they want they will all of a sudden wanna trade...

but anyway def a good video gil boogie keep it going...- Victor DJ Hook...

  • Great vid bro, yeah unfortunately there still DJs out there that are asses...

    keep it bangin

    Fingers

  • good video man

  • Great vid man! Totally agree with ya, and yeah for sure man the chicks they do that all the time!

  • Hey GilB, I cut through your neck of the woods on the way out to a gig a couple weeks ago. I'll post the little vid i shot of the view from the highway when i get a chance.

  • yeah man, great post. funny how that happens when someone hates on something, only to cheer it later. but your right, club or mobile, we all have the same goal in mind.

hahaha, i remember the 'black out the label" days! i still have alot of those vinyls that are still blacked out. i guess it still goes on, but you don't need a sharpie, you just need to have the "DJ AM" easter egg.

    great post tho G!
