Its not wanting to bust the union. But start at the top.Stop the million in bonuses.Let them take a pay cut all the way to the car dealerships. Its not going to hurt to take a 15 dollar pay cut to keep your job.Your still making a lot more than toyota and others.Help your self first
As far as the auto industry. That last line before video end needs to be repeated all over. American people have some hate for learning from others. We do everything right.
I hate that mentality. We can learn much from others just as they have learned much from us.
Americans want the volt and similar cars, the high prices prius with its waiting line and over 200k/y sales prove it.
We also need power line upgrades for the most efficient transfer of renewable energies.
We can upgrade the internet infrastructure.
Theres many legitimate upgrades to infrastructure that are about more then just job creation but cost money that is hard to come by from states alone sometimes, especially these days.
Putting the good or bad of the new deal aside, he acts like this builing of roads and such is about building them to nowhere just for jobs 5 years from now.
We need infrastructure repairs and additions anyway.
The US population has continued to grow and roads can be expanded. Texas does alot of construction, but some states could use help expanding bridges and roads who are otherwise having to wait because of budgets.
When did infrastructure become a 'negative' term anyway? We absolutely need to fix our ever expanding country, otherwise it'll all fall apart (see the economy, the I-35W bridge, Katrina)
My only concern, honestly, however, is that I think we as Americans feel we're too good to work in construction jobs. I live in Texas, and you know what, the crews currently doing the building are heavily Mexican. Do you think you can get formerly unionized steel workers to build a road? Somehow I don't.
oh please...for years citizens did the work...then came profit margin and the need to bust the unions...that is why illegals are now working construction
if people need to eat, they will do anything...but they must be paid a living wage
There is nothing wrong with a five year plan. Barack Obama should have at least that long as president. Especially if the GOP keeps listening to the likes of George Will and David Brooks.
david brooks is a fucking idiot...no economy can sustain itself if it is based on service alone....you gotta build stuff...you gotta have a manufaturing base
Poor George Will - As usual, he's the only intelligent person at the table. And he's the only reason to watch this show.

didnt matter...he found a guy who needed a green card, and would take much less to do my job
that is all it took

People need incentives to buy it not because they dont want it but because of cost.
But cost cant come down without demand.
I cant believe that one guy suggested that volume doesnt bring price down when basic economics point that volume is a downdriver of prices.

In other news, Cowboys lead 22-6 over SF at the half, and undefeated Tennessee trails 10-3 to the Jets.
