John's bass is ok, but shouldve been richer. Roger did ok. Nothing truly stands out with this band. Thats why I'm highly disappointed.

As a matter of fact, if u were to transport this album to 1983, NO ONE would buy it. Theyd trash it the moment it came out. Its the worst album since the wedding album. Funny thing is, DD still has HUGE potential. But that potential is greatly misguided and misdirected. DD needs a big makeover, physically and musically.

Now I was far too young in the 1980s to listen to Duran Duran the first time around but I do like this new album. Just like the youth of today I like a mixture of everything from pop, indie, rock, post punk, hip hop.
This sounds like old skool duran which is good considering they were going back to their roots.

Definitively waiting the real deal now^..Leopard is growing on me for ex..definitively too */ ..but full length album, not mp3 128kbps compression flat sound, etc..this is an apparently clear rockish wish with a kinda borderline electro push behind..the mix is already kinda unusual in the genre though.no doubt the real album sound will let multi layer (no guitars) sounds shine a little more though. To hell the DR-like 'fans' ) ps; &YES, they will one day reach the 60..but not U2s yet, seems *)

@henrygrandson .. specifically, simon's vocals are way off and hollow - he sounds off key and annoying. Nick's keyboard is less than unique and he shouldve done a MUCH better job - altthough he did a decent job in the 'being followed' song. Still, he shoulve done a better job. John's bass is ok, but shouldve been richer. Roger did ok. Nothing truly stands out with this band. Thats why I'm highly disappointed.

Techno-electronic quality suffered. Everyone who experienced the 80s and knows good 80s music will concur with me.Even writers have admitted this.

@sunset002007 . u dont have a clue about who DD is and the music they produce. ur obviously stuck in 1993 and u wont move forward in ur 'wedding album' frame of mind. u just cant accept DD of the 80s. DD proved theyre versatile and not stuck on 1993. but its apparent u dont have a clue who DD is and ur NOT a fan. @sunset002007 .. Glad u agree with me on the new album. Its a big disappointment. These DD "fans" (note the quotes) swear its the best thing since rio when its FARRRR from rio. As a matter of fact, if u were to transport this album to 1983, NO ONE would buy it. Theyd trash it the moment it came out. Its the worst album since the wedding album. Funny thing is, DD still has HUGE potential. But that potential is greatly misguided and misdirected. DD needs a big makeover, physically and musically.

@davidxrodriguez no..the new album will be released with 11 tracks in february 2011, as for me - european version. i will never comment a leaked horrible mp3 quality versions before the final cd..anyway! Oh..and i never preferred Rio over the very first LP..at that time :p and yes, we can always hope the next directions will be good too..that is the intriguing thing with those DDs too. *))

@davidxrodriguez rio is what made them kings in america, that's all: big sound, bit hits (and big videos). i prefer the 'in your face' sound of the first LP..yeah, i know, i an not one of those moronic fans or 'musical specialists' that will tell you a music is best when it sells the most (aka Rio)..Rio is very good though..The chauffeur etc.. (the only thing i can see some winks in the last Leopard intro btw..talking about Rio area).. )

@sunset002007 .. One other thing.. DD needs to clean its image. They are bereft of self-identity. I dont think they know who they are presently. They need to reinvigorate that image, once again, physically like true rock stars (they got to fel that they own the world) and musically. Because lets face it... image and music go hand in hand. And in the case of DD, this has worked for them as a fomula for success... theyre both inseperately intertwined.

Or a new 'Palomino', 'Fallen Angel', etc. point. *) - i could feel some vibes of the later trends in mediterranea and apparently the new album though..as usual, it is not a smashing sound at first, but that is the kind of sound that can grow..if the album around is coherent and well lead..will see that soon..^

@davidxrodriguez ..i am not really a 'DD fan(atic)'..i just happen to have followed their music experimentations through the years..and i was never disappointed as for that with them..they sure are not only a '80s' band for me)..&that is a good point in my book too*) -my usual musical grounds are electronics in general anyway..they are a real curiosity for me..&for a very long time*); &so far i was not disappointed in that department..they are excellent in 'surprises' too, all in all.. :/

@nataliagmiranda .. ive even forced myself to listen to the song, even to the point where its lodged in my head and wont get out. and my verdict still stands. the song sucks. thats my opinion. and i think my voice speaks bigger volumes since im DD's biggest critic and therefore its biggest fan.
