It's a good idea for Pheasants, ( i don't know about ducks and geese) 'cause their skin tears so easily, but if I only shoot one or two, I just do it carefully, I'm not selling them so I'm not too bothered about the skins being a bit torn, but with pigeons, or at least our wood pigeons, their feathers are so weakly attached, they're piss easy to pluck even when cold, they just come out by the handfull

from living in the country i can assure you that most farmers would love to let you hunt their land.. wild animals are always eating the crops. The most important thing is that you get written permision(for legal purpouses some hunting zones such as mine require this) and always be sure to clean up after yourselves (shotgun shells mostly) and always thank someone who lets you use their land. offer to help them with some general labor to show ur appritiation and often they will invite you back
