Sure they sound peaceful, but the problem is the explosive population they have which wipes out local animals, such as insects and animals competing for food. Because they aren't in Puerto Rico there is no local predator that hunts these frogs normally. Before you start ranting about how dumb Hawaii is, think about what happened with the cane toad explosions that not only wiped out local populations of insects, but killed anything that tried to eat it. Those "cute" animals can destroy ecosystems
hopefully a fukin volcano will errupted and burn Hawaii up and hear ur asses snap crackle n takiki pop. u moron thats a therapeutic sound not irritating.
@cuecutz12 I'm sorry but what? The real problem isn't the noise (people like to listen to different music for a reason, and what you are doing is forcing people to like what you like) the real problem is the damage they are doing to "our" ecosystem; they create competition for the native wild-life and have the potential to wipe out the rain-forests unless they can stop growing and stop eating the insects who pollinate them. People get angry for a reason, so at least understand the situation.
Awesome frogs - my sister and I were captivated when we heard these in France.... exactly the same sound so does anyone know if they are indeed in France? Wish they were in Australia! Gorgeous :)
U hawaiians r idiots juss about anything eats them ...get some cats to cntrol the population ...wht a bunch of dumbasses ...btw im from puerto rico ..n if u dnt like em puerto rico will take them back gladly
I hate these f-----g little frogs. Since arriving in Hawaii and having no natural predator to control their population they're everywhere and out of control. According to Univ. of Hawaii - Hilo testing, We have approximately 50,000+ across the street and in our back yard. The noise is so loud and irritating. I hate them !!!!!
Shut Up. Their Not Loud Or Irritating. The Coqui Sound That They Make Is Relaxing And Beautiful And I Dont Know What There Doing In Hawaii They Should Be In My Island Puerto Rico. Where They Belong.
@twilightbella321 You shut up. You don't have to live like we do in Hawaii. And just so you know, we've developed a method on how to draw them out in large numbers, then kill them. Some people like to burn them alive. Snap, crackle, coqui pop. Now those are lovely sounds.
@twilightbella321 You shut up! You don't have to live like we do in Hawaii with these festering pests. However, you should know that we've developed a method on drawing them out in large numbers then killing them. Some people like to burn them alive. Snap, crackle, Coqui Pop! Now that's an awesome sound!
I live next to a forest and i here 20,000 of them and its always my favoritte thing. It reminds me of my grandmas house when I was visiting her house when I was living in Orlando. but now i live in Puerto Rico and it reminds me of the old time :)
Los sonidos de mi tierra...Ahora mismo escucho uno afuera de mi ventana....It is a beautiful sound after a while you get used to it....And its just part of the sounds of the night....they take over the night and the roosters take over the morning....for those who are not used to them....lol ...it could be annoying . It happened to me when I first moved here...lol...
yeah, its a nice sound.....for awhile.......then you find out it happens every single night and they multiply faster than than the feds print money. Then it gets louder and louder and louder. Would be better to keep them in Puerto Rico and you can go there to hear them.
Just back from San Juan and LOVE this...I miss my nightly concert!

This is such a beautiful and soothing noise.
I like to bathe to the sound of the El Coqui, it does me wonders, especially with my Mango Paradise body wash:)
I wish I could listen to this everyday in person, just perfection.

I miss the coqui froggies. I was only in Puerto Rico for a month, but I loved their sound from the day I got there.

It's beautiful! I'd kill to have that sound in my area. Instead I get street sweepers and snow plows and garbage trucks at 3am to wake my toddler.
