Actually I did not seen this movie, but I saw the original one with P. Falk and J. Clayburgh. That ending was better. SPOILER! Phoenix died first with Griffin at her side and on her deathbed forbade him to visit her gravesite. He promised this but in the end he visited it after a while and on her gravestone was nothing but: Griffin, I knew you were going to come. He then broke down in tears. SPOILER END! I think this is the most brilliant dark humor I have ever met! This ending was too romantic.
