Actually... it is trying to, Apple even stated it. Only thing is, none of the games even compare to the depth you get on some PSP games or DS games. Thing is though, don't tell that to itouch/iphone users, they get butt hurt really easily and try thier best to defend thier newly transformed "gaming device". Now in regards to this doom resurrection, I have to say that it's kinda interesting to see "shaders" on a handheld device, even though it looks like shader 1.0...

I've played Metroid Prime Hunters on the Nintendo DS but I was amazed how they used the stylus!

You can use the D-pad to strafe but everything else you do with the stylus. So it is possible to make a nice 3D shooter for a touch screen apparatus.

Nope, I suppose I can live with mideocre camera resolution and less impressive graphics, as long as I can still enjoy what I got. When it comes to gaming the iPhone is just great, because it holds opportunities those overpriced consoles don´t have. There´s still place for truely innovative developers like in the good days of pc/console gaming before it became a billion dollar market. Its not about graphics, it´s about fun. ;)

It´s not a far from scripted camera movement to free camera movement. That shouldn´t take to much processing capacity away. At least I think so.

I know the camera would be easy to re script (not for me though lol) but to make the scenery tangible is another task, I mean this camera is ALWAYS going to be the same, no variables. but free movement of camera/ character changes everything, instead of just saying "ok lets make the front of a box for him to take cover with, your saying "lets make a fully 3D box. which isn't hard for a few items but for a complete game on the iphone?
