if i want to add a new node to an already established CAN bus in an automobile how do i do this? for example if i wanted to add a projector to the CAN bus would this be done with a DSUB9 cable?
@rajohns08 First of all, be aware that everything that has to with CAN in an automobile is highly proprietary, and information on the nature of messages is not available to the regular person. On top of that there are a bunch of liability issues if you "interfere" with the network. I recommend checking out literature on Amazon.com, especially car electronics. I know there are a few books that explain the process of accessing and using an automobile's electronic system.
