This commercial puts itself out there as a PSA, but it's really a blatant advertisement for a pharmaceutical company urging parents to go get vaccinated against something their infants probably already got a vaccination for. It's a ploy to get your hard earned money out of your pocket and nothing more.

This is the FDA trying to scare people into buying a vaccine. 80% of babies got it from their parents "when a source was identified." If you're sick with a communicable disease, don't hold infants. You don't need a shot, you need common sense. Rule of thumb (please thumb up so everyone can see this): if the vaccination/pill has a commercial, you do NOT need it. This includes the flu shot for the vast majority of the population. If the flu isn't potentially deadly to you, don't get the vaccine.

"80% of babies get it from family members" it DOES NOT state that the family members are their parents/mothers, only family members which most likely are siblings/cousins, in other words other kids their own age. like many viruses are spread amongst children.

This is the FDA trying to scare people into buying a vaccine. 80% of babies got it from their parents "when a source was identified." If you're sick with a communicable disease, don't hold infants. You don't need a shot, you need common sense. Rule of thumb (please thumb up so everyone can see this): if the vaccination/pill has a commercial, you do NOT need it. This includes the flu shot for the vast majority of the population. If the flu isn't potentially deadly to you, don't get the vaccine.

People who don't get vaccinated are ignorant; I know, I'm a nurse and I've studied the FACTS. Smallpox vaccine has potentially saved millions of lives, chickenpox vaccine will eventually completely eradicate both chickenpox in children and shingles in the elderly. Not getting your child vaccinated is IRRESPONSIBLE.

There's a huge difference between a public service announcement and amplifying a baby's cough and making you appear dangerous to infants to invoke fear. If they wanted some credibility, they would've approached this a lot differently. You don't need to use marketing tactics for health.

As much as I dislike this commercial, you are a fucking idiot if you think the vaccine does not work or is not worth receiving. This vaccine has been given to children in Canada as part of a series of recommended vaccines that includes vaccines against this, tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps and rubella. Not once in my life I have heard of a baby or kid having any of the above and I have spent my childhood in hospital, I should know something. So there sure is something that works there.

This commercial needs to be scary because there are people out there willing to expose their children to risk of death because of nut-job conspiracy theories surrounding vaccines. I may not like kids but even I think it's wrong to sugar-coat a serious issue concerning an illness that can condemn a baby to death just so you can feel comfortable.

Oh my god. I HATE THIS COMMERCIAL!!!!!!! It disturbs me so much. I was watching george lopez at like 1 A.M. and then this comes on. I had all the lights off, and i was tired and dilerious, so when it came on, the beginning seemed like a cute little baby commercial, and then the cough scene came on. I remembered i'd seen it once before and forgot, so i plugged my ears and looked down. the creepy yellow light reflected off of my shirt, and it just scared me. There has to be a less disturbing way.
