@thierryman I agree partly with your statement, although everyone seems to come to the U.S. for better opportunities. Cuba is 90 miles away from Florida by boat and Mexico is even closer. I just think he should have mentioned the reasons behind these long standing conflicts. Cubans in Cuba are also very prideful of how they stood up to the U.S. even though they might not hate us. Also, what opportunities? There haven't been very many good job opportunities in many years for millions living here!

You can buy anything you like in those hotels including steaks (something Cubans aren't able to buy without risking going to jail) Shampoo, toothpaste (colgate) , etc. They do have air conditioners made in Japan and all kind of stuff made in France, China , etc. The blockade is a stupid political move by our Congress that only give Fidel an excuse for all its failures .
