is the self tanner the same color for all skin tones? because i see on the sun labs website that some products are labeled ultra dark, dark sunsations, and dark sun set. is there a difference?

I've asked a ton of people and no one will answer my question. Can I just order the actual self tanner and use my own exfoliator and my own lotion? I've found several places where it's cheaper, I didn't want to spend $40 on all 3 bottles when I've already got a ton of other stuff.
