All time favorite movie! I absolutely love everything about it especially Talia Shire. She is so perfect. So is Burgess Meredith. So is everyone else. So is the music. It's just the perfect movie and it still holds up because the theme of trying to find your own self-worth is timeless. By the way, I was an extra in the final Rocky movie! I am ringside in the final round. I had to play hooky from work that day but there was no chance I was going to miss that! Thanks for sharing.

I doubt this is the trailer (perhaps the last 30 seconds). I don't ever recall seeing this trailer on TV (three minute trailer on TV is unheard of). I only heard about Rocky via word of mouth from my high school buddy and then I saw a newspaper ad. Rocky was a low budget film that was presented in limited markets at first. It looks like someone just pasted together scenes of the movie. There is no Rated PG stated anywhere.

Rocky is America Cinema's most defining drama ever made. Of all films that have sequels - Rocky is probably the most revered and respected to have such. Even Rambo in the same. As a kid I grew up with Rocky and Rambo. I do believe that Rocky will always be the most iconic American Drama film ever. Unlike Star Wars - it made me think of the reality of someone striving to make it out of the ghetto and into the prime time - by training hard and striving to succeed. Rocky (Sly) was 30 in 1976!!

Yeah, films from the 1970s had really long trailers. The Enter the Dragon (1973) trailer was so long, it practically told the whole story. Either way, both movies are in a class of their own.
