@volcheckt The Black Tie Service plans they offer allow customers to essentially "trade-in" their product for a similar model if their product is defective. Otherwise, you can't just trade-in whenever you feel like it. If you don't have an service plan, you can't just come back in whenever to get a different product outside of the return period. Yes, I do work for Best Buy, and no I don't work on the sales floor. And neither are we commission. Buy Back isn't something I would necessarily buy.

Trade-in allows you to bring in products (i.e. laptops, cell phones, ipods, etc.) and get a very small denomination back on a gift card if the product is in decent-excellent quality. These items are typically WELL outside their manufacturer's warranty and retailer return policies.
Buy Back on the other hand allows customers to bring in their old gadgets within their extended time frames and get money back towards their upgrade
buy back is way better than the trade in bc if u do the trade in it has to be in good condition and must be error free and with the buy back adding the extended warranty they give u the maximum back
@jvicente300 , This is not correct, then why would they say "UP TO 50%"? Im sure if its in bad condition, and its with in 6months, they made give you credit up to 15%! This is a TOTAL SCAM! I hate best buy, and will never shop there again! STUPID SCAM!
its not a scam its really meant for people who are not interested is taking the time to sell on craigslist or ebay and its expected that you will use it within 1 year. so does the program suck yes but scam no. now the best buy protection plan on most items is great. but of course it is good and bad for apple product good because if you drop and idevice in water best buy replaces it with a new item not refurb but bad because for a 2 year plan you only get 2 replacements. apple unlimited refurbs

@kingjaekob Yea great idea have someone you don't come to your home that's really smart especially if you have kids and no I'm not a best buy employee just someone that's not stupid and can see the benefit of this program. If you don't like it well don't use it but it's not a scam. eBay that's the biggest scam on the planet you pay to list it you pay a commission when you sell it and it cost money to take Paypal and on top of that you have to deal with the douchebag buyer. No thanks you fail
