LOTR trilogy eternal sunshine of the spotless mind stranger than fiction the pianist inception the lion the witch and the wardrobe the dark knight star trek the bourne ultimatum finding nemo THAT was hard i like so many more :)
Lord of the Rings! LOTR will always win for me. My favourite film growing up. And how I miss the fact that there are no more, but The Hobbit should hopfully be good :)
What a stupid premise... Not that it lacks merit, but The Lord of the Rings and Matrix trilogies spill over into the 90's, despite the fact that they were ahead of their time... not surprising, when one considers that Star Wars was neither OF the 70's, 80's, or 90's, but a timeless myth devoid of anything that would date the film in the eyes of future generations, with the possible exception of Lucas' obsession with pushing the limits of available FX techniques. I'm just sayin, is all.
1. Gangs of New York 2. The Dark Knight 3. No Country for Old Men 4. Snatch 5. The Departed 6. The lord of the rings 7. Battle Royal 8. Kill Bill 9. Distrcit 9 10. There Will Be Blood and 11 would be Cast Away
i cant really decide on an all time top ten, so im gonna put my favourite film from each year: 2000: X-men 2001: Zoolander 2002: 8 mile 2003: Curse of the black pearl 2004: Hellboy 2005: Batman Begins 2006: Casino Royale 2007: Blades of Glory 2008: The Dark Knight 2009: X-men Origins Wolverine
1 the departed 2 o brother, where art thou? 3 sin city 4 king kong(2005) 5 the dark knight 6 the hangover 7 american pie 2 8 watchmen 9 kill bill(1&2) 10 3:10 to yuma
I'm a action movie fan, so... 1. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 2. Spiderman 3. Terminator 3 4. Avatar 5. Iron Man 6. Bourne Identity 7. X-Men Origins: Wolverine 8. Troy 9. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring 10. Slumdog Millionaire
1. Pans Labrynth 2. Wall-e 3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind 4. Avatar 5. In to the wild 6. City of God 7. Children of Men 8. Requiem for a dream 9. Slum Dog Millionaire 10. Death Proof honorable mention Almost Famous, Sin City, Kill Bill, Star Trek, The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, Wristcutters
In no particular order: The Dark Knight Gran Torino Lord of the Rings Trilogy No Country for Old Men Spirited Away Pan's Labyrinth Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind There Will Be Blood Zodiac Letters From Iwo Jima
1) Forest Gump 2) Saving Private Ryan 3) Castaway 4) Lord of the Rings Trilogy 5) Pirates of the Carribbean Trilogy 6)A Few Good Men 7) Twilight 8) The Dark Knight 9) Spider Man 10) Shrek Not in any order...i just numbered them
To yet you know this decade I was age 10-20 so heres my list, in sorta an order 1: Star Trek 2: Spiderman(this was my first date) 3: Shrik 4: National Treasure 5:Pirates of the Carrabbean: Curse of the Black Pearl 6: Harry Potter (any but 3 and 4) 7: Scooby doo 8: Juno 9: Mama Mia 10: Up
I love the movies "Naked" from Mike Leigh and "Stalker" of André Tarkovsky more but.. In these ten years there has been made a movie that had both elements of these two masterpieces.
The movie "Children of men" about a future where people cant make any babies anymore.
If you havent seen it (or any of the two movies I just told you about above) I would advise you to, Real nice and calm movies with all three good long shots to enjoy.
In no particular order... these are the first ones that came to mind. I know this probably sounds arrogant but I watch over 100 movies a year so anything that I thought to put on here comes highly recommended. I would advise anyone who hasn't seen one of these to drop everything and do so. Pan's Labyrinth The Dark Knight The Wrestler Let the Right One In Anvil! The story of Anvil The Fog of War Downfall (Der Untergang) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Amores Perros UP
No particular order: Lord of the Rings Old-Boy The Matrix Kill Bill Vol1. City of God Wall-E Ratatouille Donnie Darko Inglorious Basterds Pans Labyrinth Bourne Identity
wanted 300 dark knight devils rejects doomsday v for vendetta halloween lord of war hostal 1 and 2 saw freddy vs jason jackass 1 and 2 pirates of the carribean 3 theres probably more but I just cant think of them right now
in no order Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Memento Wall-E Donnie Darko Pan's Labyrinth Super Troopers Into the Wild Ocean's Eleven Bowling for Columbine Kind of stretching my list making capabilities here, but... The Hangover? If movies from 99 are included, American Beauty and Fight Club make the list.
I would have to nominate "V for Vendetta". This movie moved me tremendously. It made me Laugh, Cry, and most importantly THINK! The acting was exceptional, graphics were enchanting and the action KICKED ASS! Most importantly this movie scared me...it scared me because it's message hit really close to home. Dangerously close. All and All it ROCKED!!!
in no particular order: v for vendetta lord of the rings zeitgeist darjeeling limites garden state eternal sunshine of the spotless mind sunshine the prestige dark knight fight club
1. Lord of The Rings Trilogy 2. Harry Potter movies 3. Matrix Trilogy 4. Star Wars epi 1-3 5. The Ring 6. Saw movies 7. Brokeback Mountain 8. The Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore (documentary) 9. Bourne Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum 10. Transporter 1,2 & 3 and all other movies with trilogy...
Neither The Matrix nor Fight Club were in this decade. Zeitgeist? Really? Some of my picks: Watchmen The Dark Knight Thank You For Smoking V For Vendetta Revenge of the Sith Good Night and Good Luck Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Pirates of the Carrabbean: Curse of the Black Pearl Juno Almost Famous
matrix fight club Pans labyrinth Zeitgeist Zeitgeist addendum Watchmen lord of the rings V for Vendeta Requem for a Dream Howls moving Castle not in order
Finding nemo the incredibles alvin and the chipmunks wall.e bolt up monters inc. monsters versus aliens lilo and stitch and, OF COURSE, Sponge Bob Square Pants he Movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!1!!!11!!! Just kidding (I'm not even sure those all came out this decade) =P
I would also like to give Little Miss Sunshine, The Constant Gardener, and What Would Jesus Buy? an Honorable mention, because it's not on anyone else's list. Is that cheating?
1) Zeitgeist: Addendum The Corporation V for Vendetta Matrix They Live! Free Rainer Waking Life Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels Bastards of the Party 10) BRÙ-CÉ-KAÉ! 10 is WAAAY too less...!!
do top ten vids my fav when they go to the congo to get casiterite,or haiti prison or when black water guys sit on a roof and turkey shoot innocent muslims because they are wearing colors, now our hands are blood red, especially mop
These aren't in order..., but you know what makes me sad. (I feel quite emotional about this...) I'm a big movie fan and I have seen countless movies and I can't seem to find the right list of good movies; though without a doubt the best of my decade will be 1, 2, 3, 5. These blew my mind! Especially #2!
The Lord of the Ring trilogy. My first date with my hubby was the fellowship one. My roomies were all uber nerds so I guess that one. Hard to find many movies worth a shit as the nameless decade trudged on. Last movie I went to see was W. and it was very disappointing.
I surfed both through my head and on the net and came up with an unorthodox list. It's about half personal favorites and half populist box office hits that make more sense on a list like this. From oldest to newest: O Brother, Where Art Thou? The Royal Tenenbaums Oldboy Primer Crash Borat There Will Be Blood The Man From Earth No Country for Old Men The Dark Knight Can't wait to see the resulting video. =)
I thought about making a list and then decided not to. The 2000s have sucked so much as far as movies go compared to the 90s. The 90s were the golden era of everything.
Yeah, but the movies that were actually good in the 2000's really stood out because you were in an empty theater while everyone else went to see 10000 BC.

7 Lucky Number Slevin,

9 Returner,

These aren't in order..., but you know what makes me sad. (I feel quite emotional about this...) I'm a big movie fan and I have seen countless movies and I can't seem to find the right list of good movies; though without a doubt the best of my decade will be 1, 2, 3, 5. These blew my mind! Especially #2!

Polanski's The Pianist is Kubrickian in its pace, but also brilliant original.
Hard to watch in its unremitting bleakness but all worth it in the final moments.
mopsius 2 years ago
DePalma's Redacted is brilliant and original, and again most will not get the connection between the technique and the subject.
Eyes Wide Shut is one of Kubrick''s best--but it takes time to sink in. Once is not enough.
The US as Vienna on the verge of collapse--where is nothing behind the masks.
K. manipulated Cruise into acting his part with the flawless vacuity he is.
mopsius 2 years ago
Sokurov's The Russian Ark is one of the ten most important films since Eisenstein.
Very subtle--most people won't get it for another twenty years, and most also don't get the connection between the steadicam and the theme.
The techies admired the steadicam work and tried to give the award to the steadicameraman, haha.

The Lord of the Ring trilogy. My first date with my hubby was the fellowship one. My roomies were all uber nerds so I guess that one. Hard to find many movies worth a shit as the nameless decade trudged on. Last movie I went to see was W. and it was very disappointing.

can the list include youTube videos, or you want only commercially released feature length films?
but why would anyone want to watch movies when the network news is stillol available, for FREE!??

I thought about making a list and then decided not to. The 2000s have sucked so much as far as movies go compared to the 90s. The 90s were the golden era of everything.
miked860 2 years ago
Yeah, but the movies that were actually good in the 2000's really stood out because you were in an empty theater while everyone else went to see 10000 BC.
