  • I really enjoyed your thoughful and sincere rendition of Mr. Dunbar's classic poel. I suggest another of his poems, The Old Banjo.

  • Thankyou!

I think I know were there's an old banjo, still attached to an old banjo player!

  • I love this poem...and the reader's voice...so peaceful! The images bring back memories of my childhood...growing up in the country in Tennessee and picking apples on the farm. Mom and my aunts would make the BEST fried apple pies...They would share them with you...and a tall glass of sweet iced tea...

  • Very pretty.

  • Very nice my friend. What lovely prose and images. Thanks for sharing it with me.

  • Nice piece of art

  • Reminds me of my childhood and an elderly couple with an old apple tree. Brought us bushels of apples with bruises and worms. The old man showed us how to cut out the good and made apple sauce.

  • I love all of your works, they're so beautiful. Continue to be creative. Teresa

  • Hi Teresa, thankyou.

Know one can imagine how much pleasure and sheer fun I get out of doing this! each one is a real life adventure, and you get to meet truly lovely souls like yourself and Martin and so many others!

  • Thanks so much narcoleptus i do that transitioning with photos alot in adobe elements i just had no clue that the adobe premier did it with video which i've been playing a lot with lately myself im gonna run right out on the net and buy it now. I can't wait to create!!!!keep up the great work! I look forward to more from you both.

  • Your video work was a wonderful complement to Ugelt's reading skill Bravo to you both!!! How did you fade back and forth and get those images ontop of one another like that. Your editing skill is fantastic! Keep up the great work and Ugelt Please keep reading!

  • Thankyou runninamuck.

I'm using Adobe premier editing prog.

I used a dissolve/fade transition between edits and adjusted the length of time so theuy are 3 to 4 seconds long.

In Adobe you can put your edited clip in a 2nd video channel above the clip you want to mix in, then the opacity of the one clip can be reduced in the effects controls.

    continued next comment

  • When the 2 clips are played, the one that is above the other which is slightly transparent

Will then then seem to fade in.

By simply extending the time of the fade/dissolve transition you can 'mix' clips.

  • Very nice visual accompaniment to Urgelt's reading!

  • Thanks Kenny.

  • Truly a work of art! Funny how some things just have to happen. This collaboration is one of those things. This is what YouTube is all about!

  • Thankyou justpassnthru, I'm beginning to see just how much potential youtube has to offers in terms of inspiring serious creative work as well as its more casual just good fun side!

  • BEAUTIFUL. The cows, the fog...that was a breathtaking effect. Gorgeous shots, every one. Extremely well read, too, I must add. That poem was made for your voice and this video it seems. Perfectly poignant! You also chose very ambient, non-intrusive music for the last. Five stars!

  • Hi Sadie,

The voice belongs to Ugelt. He made an audio of himself reciting this poem and added effects and took the music from a free music site and uploaded it as a video.

With Ugelts permission I provided a visual accompaniment so it worked as a collaberation between people who've never even met each other!

  • Ah, I didn't realize that was Urgelt's voice. Still fantastic imagery, still five stars!
