@IIIIandrew Actually, I dont believe warp drive is faster then light travel. Its actually a litteral warping of time and space around the ship. Depending on how you look, yes, that is and isnt faster then light travel. But I believe they say that space and time are the only things moving and that the ship, while in warp, doesnt indeed move.

This is added to the fact that Scotty says "I would of never thought of space as the thing that was moving" in the new movie.

What would the altered time line version of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D look like ? Would it have Dual Warp Cores like it already should have had since it is a " Galaxy" Class Starship that is supposed to go off on Long Range Missions that are supposed tp go on for 10 - 15 Years ? Will it's Warp Engines be Longer like they should have been since day 1 ? Will they be higher up on their Mounts ? will the Saucer be shrunk in size about 15 % to bring the ship better into Proportion ?

A,B,C, and E don't compare. They are nice, but the D has size, power, and looks like a flagship. It's not scary, but demands respect and awe, just like the federation. A federation ship should never cause fear when in it's presence. The E is awesome, but too dark and scary, it doesn't have the regal appearance of the D.

The NX-01 was much tougher than the Enterprise-D. The NX-01 took a near fatal beating from 4 ships, fought back, destroyed one and was STILL functioning after. The Ent-D got it's ass kicked by a single 20 year old Bird of prey that could penetrate it's shields. The NX-01 did'nt even have shields just a from of Reactive armor of sorts so every shot came into contact with the hull. The Ent-D should be ashamed.

@buokopter Actually weapons were not weaker. The E-D's shields were taken down by 400 Gigawatts which is 400 Gigajoules per second. The NX-01's Phase Cannons have a maximum yeild of 500 Gigajoules. Riker mentioned that it would take the entire E-D's torpedo payload to destroy an asteroid 8km think while the a single torpedo from the NX-01 would put a 3km hole in an asteroid. The episode Pegasus I believe even proved that 24th century Photons were less than a Kiloton. All of that is canon too.

TNG weapons are very weak. Enterprise era weapons were weak but not TNG weak. TOS weapons were super powerful. :)

@MrHoppers002 TOS Weapons were the most powerful but like I said, the Enterprise-D's shields were dropped by 400 Gigawatts and Reed mentioned that a single Phase Cannon can generate 500 Gigajoules per shot. The NX-01 also took much more of a beating than the E-D or the E-E ever took and could still warp, use weapons and it's defensive systems.

I find it funny that they have such mix ups in the ships stats as they make newer shows. The make a show about a ship that's 200 years before TNGs Enterprise-D yet it's more powerful than the Enterprise-D. lol

@MrHoppers002 I know stupid is'nt it. The E-E is only 2-3 times more powerful than the D so 400 Gigawatts would still cause problems for even that. The NX-01 took a .25 Kiloton (Nearly a full Terawatt) blast to it's unprotected hull and lost a 10-15 Meter section but the ship could still warp, use it's defenseive systems and weapons, basicly all vital systems were still functioning. The E-D took the same and lost warp power, weapons, defensive systems and took thermal damage and internal damage.

The Enterprise- D is startintg to become Legendary. Only in the cleaned up DVds of the Fan Complilation can we really see her size and mass. She took Trek further and used a previous Starship Design as a Springboard to what else can be done with it.

Hooray for the NCC-1701-D and to it's eventual remastering.

Enterprise D should be remastered. The ship needs to have the saucer shrunk a bit to bring it into better proportion with the rest of the ship.

The engine hull needs to be lenghthed and thickened. the warp engines need to be raised and made longer. the Blue warp grilles need to be covered up in the rear for Tactical reasons.

Dual Torpedo Launchers need replace the Torpedo launchers already on the ship.Aux. Torp Launchers need to be placed on the ship's saucer and under the Battle/Engine Hull.

Agreed, the Federation Flagship shouldn't have been destroyed my a 20yr Bird of Prey. Rotate the shield freq. blast the Duras sisters, end of battle. Seious plot holes in Generations. Enterprise-D looked her best in the movie though, should have never been destroyed.

I don't seem to recall anyone on the Enterprise-D ever suggesting that the shields be shifted to a new modulation - which maybe would have saved the ship since the Klingons had set their torpedoes on the same frequency as the shields.

It was a beautiful ship. I know they had 3 models. A 2, 4, and 6 foot version. I liked the 6 foot because the others made the edges of the end of the saucer look more thicker and the whole model more bumpy with squares.

it does have one..its called the Dreadnought-class federation starship...looks just like a galaxy class but has disputers and a SS phaser cannon that can rip through ANYTHING...its part of the alternate war timeline the uses to back things up when things go wrong with Q ...it was in the TNG episode "All Good Things" part 2 I do believe and boy is it awsome in my STBC video game!

There is no such thing as the 'Dreadnought-class'. The 3 nacelle Enterprise was a re-fit Galaxy class, and from an alternate timeline. Books and games are not considered cannon (meaning official) and should be ignored.

Sorry, but no. There are so many inconsistencies with Enterprise I'd need a couple of pages to outline them all, but I can't be bothered. Enterprise is simply the product of disrespectful script writers screwing around with the time line (cheating), and most people saw this, which is why it was canceled after only 4 seasons. The first screw up was in the first episode (phase pistols, Klingons who were actually encountered in Kirk's time etc). They should have gone with Star Trek Excelsior.

For me the Galaxy Class Enterprise NCC-1701-D will always be the Federation Flagship, the E was too darned sleek and streamlined at the expense of the design! When Starfleet re-took DS9 from the Cardassians I was delighted to see that the lead ship was the galaxy class USS Venture! And when Voyager finally returned to Earth several galaxy class vessels were sent out to meet it! Long live the Galaxy Class!!

If you weren't too busy trolling you'd realise that the show was brilliant and had a slow start just like TNG and DS9 and TOS, Seasons 3 and 4 of Enterprise were consistantly excellent. They told many brilliant and fresh stories, you're right though the NX-01 doesn't count, but that's only because she wasn't a Federation Starship.

There isn't anything wrong with ENT. Star Trek continues to evolve and live on in its own unique way; indeed, it is natural to be irritated at things which are new or deviant. When I first started off with Star Trek, TOS was the only series important to me; then I started wading in deeper, and realized that they all make valuable contributions to Trek Canon. ST is all about respect, diversity, and human potential; I do not believe that a single film or series has violated that theme.
