To bad these tests. If the one quarter mile test was at the end the twingo rs would end at the 2nd place! The RS is just te best steering car.

And i drove a swift sport and own a Twingo RS and the Twingo is faster in acceleration. So it isn't a good test.

Twingo would have won the other tests, possibly. Suzuki needs to bring the Swift Sport to US. Drove the FIAT 500 Sport today, cool car, nice for the money, but nothing special to drive and too slow. Not waiting for the Abarth version. Mini Cooper S was a million times more fun but it's too expensive with all the options and neither car has a useable back seat. And that pretty much leaves the GTI.

Tiff likes the suzuki, and so do I~! Suzukis are wonderful mini cars. A little lacking in power, but the engine revs really well, and has good torque. And corners like a devil!

The Colt has a simple and powerful engine 4g15t MIVEC wich can very easily go up to 200 hp with safety, for the tuners the Colt is the best..For an every day car i would have the 500 abarth..The swift sport is just a beautiful car with poor interior and no turbo and the twingo is a car for the girls..

ummm so the most powerful is the Colt so take it put a suspension and voila the best hot hatch! and yes with the suspension upgrade will cost you 12849 uk pounds plus 500 uk pound a good suspension is 13349 uk pounds or 15957 euros. Or just put a switch for the traction and the car will be mutch better on the track..

Clarckson was allready famous for his tv-humor as presenter in other shows before he restarted topgear in 2001.

Fifth gear is still the real stuff for the more serious carlover , top gear is just good for the humor

Can someone explain why the Twingo came last at the drag race? compared to the Swift the twingo has 8 hp more, 12Nm of torque more, the weight is about the same, bigger power to weight ratio, 0- 100kph (0-62mph) 0.2 sec. faster. And in the end the Swift was faster. How?

If they had raced the colt around the track it would have likely come first as it was only a fraction slower at really low speed (with the gap in power between 1st and 2nd gear) and faster once it gets a chance to stretch its legs. Either way, I'd much rather buy a turbo car over an NA car as it is so much cheaper to increase power.

he drove the swift in 3rd gear... everybody knows you can run your swift up to 80-90kmh in the 2nd. Then the siwft 1.6 engine really develops lots of power where no 500 abarth could come close...

I love my swift, I like the 500 looks... but in the end I have more fun with a Swift Sport!!!

I don't know if its "better". All these cars are smart and fun to drive that's what's important. Some people don't like turbocharged cars, that's personal preference. At least you have CHOICE and that's MORE IMPORTANT! We'll only get 2 of the 4 cars in this test in the American market. Its fairly for sure that the Suzuki will be sold here. BTW Horsepower always trumps handling, handling can be fixed, horsepower is much more expensive to fix... US model 500 debut in late 2010 confirmed

Less hp and better doesn't equate this is not a Mustang GT vs a Lotus Elise Supercharged. This is a car vs the Swift faster in the straight line, period end of story. You will not drive it near the limit often enough to even be concerned about the minor differences in handling...

Well we'll soon find it, rumor has it Suzuki is going to finally bring the Swift back to the US market and I am sure like last time they'll bring the sporty version with them. Problem is the Fiat will have 170hp in the US market, not sure what Suzuki is going to do about that. The only car in its class that might match it is the Ecoboost Fiesta which is suppose to be available in 2011.

And finally the Abarth is 2s faster than the Susuki on the track !

The Twingo has a goog handling but no powerplant...
