That was a great defense performance by OU that day in Lincoln. I remember Hollaway going down a couple weeks before the game and Barry told Charles Thompson he would shock the nation if he went out and played like he practiced. Broderick Thomas and Steve Taylor did do a little too much trash talking before that game and it definitely played in OU's favor. If I remember correctly, NU had something like 12 staight 3 and outs that game. I will miss the OU and NU rivalry.
@bherron34 Didn't Thomas say something like "the flat out truth is OU shouldn't even be on the same field with us?" I remember it being posted all over campus
How many people remember what Nebraska's quarterback said before the game. THEY CANNOT PLAY WITH US. Oh tylenol Osborne that defense was harder than I thought.
sure rather play oklahoma every year than them scummy buffs!! sure miss these old games this was our only and true rivalry nebraska vs ou every year!!!! like em or hate em you always loved the game!
This was from the '86 game, where Broderick Thomas and Steve Taylor were talking trash the week before the game, saying Nebraska was going to blow out OU.
Nebraska played at OU in 68 & 69. So OU owned a game to NU. If I remember right it had to do with stadium construction, but I could be wrong. Shame they don't play every year, one of the best big games in college football.
You were right except the '86 part. Taylor was talkin mad trash about a young Charles Thompson. I heard Taylor couldn't even eat dinner after the game that night because his foot was still crammed down his throat. The is only one Big Red and last I checked they still played in Norman.

I miss the wishbone. It was a thing of beauty when executed well. Don't understand why nobody can run it these days.

#47 Leroy Etienne totally gave up on that play. He should have made the tackle.

Too bad the only schools that run a true option offense these days are service academies.
