About Douillet, you mark him for uchimata, while many people think (so do I) he's thrown by uchimata sukashi. You should have concentrate on real, clear ippon, for all of the others there is no question. Nothing but net.

Check out Japanese top Judo-Kas if

you don't want to see UGLY judo. Most other judo

is UGLY. The grabbing of the belt, bear hugging

even after being thrown, 90degrees bowing down

movements (heppiri-goshi) etc. etc. These

have made judo very UGLY.

Oh-Goshi, Morote, Kataguruma etc. are rather irregular

wazas. Praise to judokas should be based on how good

their Seoinage, Oosoto-Gari, Taiotoshi , Ippon-Zeoi or

Uchimata are.

@KENTAROCHIBA correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jigoro Kano supposedly 'invent' Kata-guruma? Isn't it the third move in the Nage No Kata? Isn't O-Goshi also in the Nage No Kata, or did I just really screw up my Shodan exam? All good Judo. It isn't easy to throw a resisting, skilled opponent. Not going to be pretty. Just effective.

Uchimata of Douillet at 2:30 was a misjudgment, and it should have been uchimata sukashi of Shinohara. This is clearly shown below.

There was no point for Douillet, it was clearly an Ippon for Shinohara; what happens to the executors body after the Ippon doesn't count, the same miss judgment happened to S. Keji recently. This referee should have been suspended but he still referees! The head of the IJF referring committee Mr. Kojima was forced out because of this.
