  • Most of those cuts were made at about 2000 RPM. not quite up on the step when I did that. once the piece balances I usually turn it up to about 2700 or so. Just what feels good. I get better cuts at higher speeds.

  • Captain Eddie what RPM were you running at when doing the shear scraping to clean up the high spots? As always thank for the outstanding tips I am a better turner because of you!

  • I cleaned it up a little with inside scraper cuts so it would be smooth when I put the finish on it. I plan on painting black when I finish with the outside.

  • Capt. Thanks for posting. One question for you. Did you return the inside also or is it not really necessary. Thanks, Mike

  • Super...as usual. Thank you.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • Thanks Capt. Your gonna' make a pro out of me yet!

Please tell me about the dyes/ink from Office Depot. PLEASE.

  • They sell refill ink for stamp pads in many colors. I cut them with a little denatured alcohol and use sparingly. I can spray them in my airbrush and get really cool effects.

  • @capneddie

I am hurtin' to see you work w/ this dye. is there an ETA for the video showing that?
