Most of those cuts were made at about 2000 RPM. not quite up on the step when I did that. once the piece balances I usually turn it up to about 2700 or so. Just what feels good. I get better cuts at higher speeds.
Captain Eddie what RPM were you running at when doing the shear scraping to clean up the high spots? As always thank for the outstanding tips I am a better turner because of you!
I cleaned it up a little with inside scraper cuts so it would be smooth when I put the finish on it. I plan on painting black when I finish with the outside.
They sell refill ink for stamp pads in many colors. I cut them with a little denatured alcohol and use sparingly. I can spray them in my airbrush and get really cool effects.
