That the 80's were better is an illusion. We always look back, thinking everything was better then, no matter which era. This will also be said of the 2000's in which we are at present. Just like romanticism literally romanticised the middle-ages, so do alot of people today with the 90's or the 80's. But they weren't better than today. You just conviniently blend out that what was bad. You escape into the past, denying the here and now. And that is sad. Embrace the moment, people !

You didn't see the young people in past generations complaining about the music. I graduated for high school in 1985 and it was the best time of my life. Ever since the 1990's came along, things just didn't get that interesting anymore. All these movies from the 80's that are associated with some of the best songs will always have a special place in my life. I wish I only had a time machine 'cause I would definately go back. In fact, I sort of did when I went back to my high school and worked there for 2 years. It just brougth back soooo many memories.
