Nope. You are wrong. Supras are my favorite car, the 2jz and even the 1jz are legendary.

But its a fact that a 240sx will and does handle better then a toyota supra. Which is the reason they are ony of the most popular drift car.

@stealth7769 You're right about 240sx's weighing less but they don't handle better per se. The supra does have a better stance and wheel base which gives better braking and high speed stability. The 240's slightly smaller wheelbase (1 inch for s14 and 2 for s13) makes it a little more nimble at slow speeds but more prone to over-steer at high speeds. the braking on the supra is also far superior to that of a 240 (both because of large brakes and wheel base). drifting is not handling btw...

Actually , with a modded s14 the braking capabilities are far greater with a 300zx brake swap. Which any person who is going to do any sort of mod to their s14 would do. As for the handling, an s14 will out corner/drift a supra any day.

As for speed a 2jz in a 240 is quite a bit faster than in it's origonal supra.

@drazzle08 That's simple not true. A completely stock supra stops in 124 feet. My S14 with Z32 brake conversion, brembo calipers, and EBC pads stops in about 110. A supra with similar brake mods performs even better. You can't knock a Supra for it's braking abilities, it really is world renowned for it's ability to stop.

My S14 has a 1JZ so I can attest to the speed it is capable of but were only talking a few hundred pounds and since you're making the argument of heavy modifications...

@drazzle08 a supra can be made to weigh not much more than an S14. Keep in mind, a 350z (also a car I've owned) handles better than either my current S14 or past S13 did and it has a wheelbase even larger than the supra (by about 4 inches) and it weighs only 100 pounds less than a supra (or about 450lbs more than an s14).

The only reason 240's are common in drifting is because theyre cheap. Not many people buy a rare supra to drift. Both have a 53/47 weight distribution though

@stealth7769 there are a lot more successful time attack supras than there are 240sx's. It's also one of the reasons the supra was such a powerhouse in JGTC while the 240sx was nowhere to be seen (Yes, to be fair JGTC cars were wildly modified.)

I'm not knocking either. I've owned 240's and driven Supras and love them both. If I were going to a parking lot autocross event I'd prefer my S14. For a real road coarse though I'd prefer a JZA80 :)
