what he did was he split 5 toothpicks in half, which makes 10 (if you count every seprate toothpick) then he put them close together, then he (so there's a small hole left, then he added a drop of water then the toothpick starfish formed. hope I helped
I'll bet it takes a while. That's time lapse photography. Probably takes 15 minutes to a couple of hours for the wood fibers to soak up the water, expand and make the toothpicks unbend a little bit.
