  • Congrats to the pair of them.

According to one judo enthusiast a large proportion of those who compete in the masters' events are individuals who were not championship contenders or high level competitors in their younger years....Just people who like judo and are fond of competition.....Probably a few of them waited until adulthood to learn judo.

  • I met one guy there in the Masters Division that used to be a World Champ. There are a few and they are fun to watch in competition. I saw some really nice matches in Masters in the Nationals this year.

  • It's nice to see these two old ladies going at it.

  • You think 30-34yrs is OLD? Because that was the division. They were not old ladies. That's technique not brute strength.

  • Oh, you have to learn to distinguish admiration from criticism. I love the video and I'm a 39 year old judoka who can still bring it.

  • LOL - I'm turning 40 years old this year and sensitive about my age... :-) But the other girl was younger. Thanks for the compliment. :-) Too bad I started Judo so late, I would have enjoyed the higher level of competition when I was much younger.

  • Oh, that's so rich. I was eighteen when I started judo and I always lament that I wish I had started sooner. How old were you when you started? I'd love to know what motivated you to start (at such an advanced age .... LOL). Please feel free to send me a message. Enjoy your day!
