A judge should have to be involved in some kind of review of the matter; it shouldn't be possible for the president to kill an American citizen on American soil based on some context that hasn't been definitively determined.

Aren't these senators arguing about thought crimes? The 911 attacks happened but they were done not in concert with any formidable military machine - unlike World War II.
