  • Thank you.

  • Ken the greatest singer :-D..Good Stuff, well done!

very nice take on this classic song...nice JOB!

  • Thank you.

  • your very talented

  • Thanks.

  • if at all possible would you be able to show me where you got the chords for this song??

    i love it

    another amazing video!!!

  • I remembered learning them in the mid 60's. However, if you type the title and the word chords you will find a hundred sites with this song.

  • Excellent song selection and performance, Ken! Love the change from picking to strumming. Your Kanilea surely sounds angelic! :-)

  • Thanks very much.

  • Wow, I love how you were able to put your original stamp on this song while still keeping enough of Dylan's version to ring with authenticity. You're unmatched, Ken. Truly remarkable.

  • Thank you so much for that comment.

  • Congratulations again! I consider myself an 'advanced beginner' player and a burgeoning ukulele enthusiast. Seeing what can be accomplished with effort and practice is truly inspiring. Thank's Ken for putting up these videos for other's enjoyment and encouragement.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • Ken you are using that beautiful Kanilea concert aren't you?! One last tech question; I like the simple retro black and white video. How did you sync your audio from the H2 and video from the camcorder? Your videos (sound and picture) really are some of the finest quality on here!

  • Hi Dan. It's actually my even more beautiful Kanile'a tenor. I use Windows Move Maker. Edit the video and the mp3 so that they start in pretty much the same place, just before the first note. Just put them together and nudge the audio into position. I take time to get this bit right.

  • I like how you have a hint of raspy/twangy young Bob Dylan type of voice!! Congrats-beautiful on all counts. What kind of microphone are you using? A single microphone or is there a ukulele mic somewhere out of frame?

  • Thanks. No I just use the one stereo mic. It's a Zoom H2.

  • Wow Ken, that was incredible. You remain to be one of my very favorite ukulele players. Just amazing!

  • Thanks for that comment.

  • Excellent performance

  • Thanks.

  • Nice, rythm and changes, well done!

  • Thanks.

  • Great cover mate! very moving as usual.

    Paolo.

  • Thank you, Paolo.

  • Great rendition.

  • Thanks.

  • I'm your fans, I like your video...B

  • Thank you.

  • Excellent performance!

  • Thank you.

  • Both of me thinks this is fine!

  • Thank you both.

  • Again a great interpretation. I love the different atmospheres you create (especially the reggae/calypso-style) within the song.

  • Thank you very much.

  • This is a really beautiful interpretation Ken. I really enjoy hearing your play Bob Dylan. You interpret his songs in such a lovely way, and they suit you so well.

  • Thanks Michelle. I always appreciate your comments.

  • I love when you do Dylan, Ken! Awesome job Ken - you really managed to make it your own.

  • Thanks. Only just got up, R. have you got your new uke yet?

  • Good morning! No I haven't. He's going to put another coat of oil on the sop and file some frets that buzzed a little, but I'm so eager to get it! Soon soon...

  • You took a fairly repetitive melody and made it much more interesting. Bravo!

  • I like to try to do something different each verse, if I can.

  • I love the variety in your strums- lots of texture.

You may have strayed, but I was happy to follow along.

  • Thanks Mary-Anne. I love to vary things a bit.

  • What a great version! I really enjoyed it.

  • Thank you, Chris.

  • awesome! I love Dylan (well, I actually tend to like dylan covers more than the originals...)

    This is a great cover

  • Thank you Valerie. Lovely to hear from you.

  • beautiful job, ken.

    one of my dylan-favourites.

  • Mine too, thanks.

  • This is the first song I learned on guitar. Love your rendition, Ken.

  • Thanks for the comment, Seeso.

  • Great job, Ken! I like the variations in the way you played the ukulele.

  • Thank you, John. I never like playing any two verses the same.

  • Really nice Ken. Your voice has a real Paul Simon quality to it.

  • Thanks Nick. Unintentional, I assure you.

  • excellent cover Ken! I love your version and agree with you about 1963. I definitely wish I was there instead of here.

  • Thanks.

Yes. Please, Please Me, zip codes started, little Jimmy Osmond born. A great year.

  • Very cool version! Loved it Ken!

  • Thank you, Deach. I've wanted to do this song for a while.

  • Great one Ken. Isnt the original in 3/4? Im trying to think of it in my head...yeah, im pretty sure...anyway I love your version of this! Its a very fresh, new take.

  • Thanks B. Absolutely right. Dylan's original is in 3 time. I'm playing in 4 time, but throwing in some triplets here and there in the vocal part.

  • Your voice is always so very kind,my heart will be healed.

And glissando of the interlude is very cool.

    Excellent Mr,Ken!!

  • Thank you Tsutomu.

  • Your voice is perfect for this song! - Very good arranged with your uke!

  • Thank you.

  • Fantastic Ken.

  • Thank you.

  • That was great ken. I think it was some smart French Fellow who said "The only thing constant is change" The fact that this, a song about change written in 1963 is just as relevant, if mot more relevant in 2009 is proof of that fact!!! Also awesome job on a complete rework of a clasic song!

  • oops 1964, whatever!!

  • Song written in '63, album in '64.

  • And 1963 was an amazing year.

  • That was a truly amazing interpretation. It seems to combine the freshness that is needed for the message of the song with the nostalgia of the original.

  • Thanks very much.

  • Listening to you Ken, is like attending a really really good music / singing class. A lot of the classics you sing I've never heard of simply because I wasn't born yet, but what I normally do is search out the original. This is probably going to be my formal music education for the time being.

  • Thank you for that, Dylan. I appreciate your comments.

  • Excellent work. A really great example of what you were talking about on UU the other day - concerning strumming patterns. Worth all five stars.

    Time for bed.

  • Yes, it doesn't need to be hard to play, just a bit varied. Thanks Shane.

  • I love that you didn't listen to Dylan's version before you recorded it and that could of been the most varied strumming pattern ever! You looked like you had loads of fun doing that one (more than the usual, I mean) lol Great! :-) X

  • Yes, Ruth, it is fun to do songs like this. There's always the danger I'll upset someone though - because I haven't tried to copy Dylan's version.

  • I don't see the point in copying/imitating somebody (like some of those people on X Factor etc) because then it's not 'you', personally, I find it quite tedious lol. I say carry on 'Kennifying' them! lol :-) X

  • I can't disagree with you, Ruth.

  • The poet of my generation's youth, who claims he is just a performer, covered by an amazing and very, very, talented fellow. Your vocal was your best ever. Incredible. Wow.

  • Thanks for that generous comment.

  • As much Paul Simon as Bob Dylan to my ears. A really nice fusion.

  • Thanks Don.

  • Very faithful to Dylan in that he never plays a song the same way twice! I always enjoy your interpretations of classic songs Ken

  • Thank you James.

  • Excellent, I too love the strum.

  • Thanks very much.

  • Very nice Ken!

I loved the changes in style, one minute almost reggae and the next almost hymn like.

  • Thank you Derek. I don't like constantly repeating the same pattern.

  • one thing you didn't stray from was being brilliant. Excellent !

  • I appreciate the comment, Kenny.

  • excellent Ken! i like the strum you chose.

  • I wanted to do it very differently from the way Dylan plays it.

  • Epic song, great performance, good sound too!

  • I agree, it's a wonderful song.

  • A pristine recording sir.

    and a lovely performance.

  • Thank you.

  • ken this a great song and and good version 5 *****

  • Thanks very much.
