Wow, I just read th eposts that she passed away? Wow, that is just too sad. I know this is life, but those of us who grew up with Freestyle seem to be stuck in the 80s. And Sandee was a significant part of that Era. RIP sister. You are missed, but your voice will carry on.
@discovery781> & others... Lets clear up some things, Im Sandee's Manager & her best friend & brother. Im in utter shock at the unreal things ppl say about her. I have so much material of hers & also I have unreleased music & original footage of Xposed. I MUST SAY THAT OUR BELOVED QUEEN OF FREESTYLE & my lovely sister Sandee' did not steal reproduce or remake any part of the song "Love Desire". It was created and recorded way before Madonna did Justify My Love, & Ingrid Chavez? LMFAO Sandee' #1

Sorry guys...but this information is F**KING my head up because I didn't know what was the story behind Sandee's death (and Expose). Thank you for informing everyone (for those who contributed the information). I appreciated her style and her songs. R.I.P. Sandee!
Does anyone know the song that was sampled? It's heard clearly in the opening of this track. It was an instrumental song popular during the time as well
@poolgod69-thanks for the response. I was actually a big fan of freestyle music back in the 80's and early 90's. I used to get shit for blasting this song from all the Madonna fans who claimed she was trying to copy Madonna's "style" Ha! Thanks for the info.
@Marz0697 Sandra Tola Harvey (née Casañas, January 19, 1962 – December 15, 2008),[1] professionally known as Sandeé, was an American freestyle music vocalist and an original member of the trio Exposé from 1984 to 1986, along with Alejandra "Alé" Lorenzo and Laurie Miller.
As a solo artist, Sandeé released the singles "You're the One" and "Notice Me" (produced by C + C Music Factory), and an album, Only Time Will Tell, featuring the single "Love Desire".
On December 15, 2008, Sandeé was found dead in her Hollywood, Florida, home. The cause of death was determined to be a severe seizure. Services were held for Sandra on Saturday December 20, 2008 at Fred Hunter's funeral home. She was 46.

@discovery781 -When you say that it happens all the time, you're correct. Recording someone else's lyrics, vocals and music without their permission is copyright infringement. Ingrid Chavez was not originally included in Madonna's liner notes, nor was she given credit as a writer in the beginning. Ingrid had to sue both Madonna & Lenny Kravitz to gain that deserved notoriety.
@discovery781 -Madonna was well aware that Ingrid had written the main pieces and half the lyrics to the song, before she begged Lenny to give it to her without Ingrid's consent. This was all over the news back in the day, and was common knowledge at the time. Madonna found the demo tape in Lenny's studio, and begged Lenny to record it, and of course she took it to the bank. Sandee's single, "Love Desire" was originally a song that was later remixed in 1991 as a new mix.
@discovery781 -The song was previously unreleased to the public prior to 1991, and this was rotated news at the time on radio programs, such as Open House Party and new music specials, when they announced this new single that contained minor keys, and seductive ambience, which such a style was gaining popularity at that time through many european, as well as electronic artists who were producing heavily for freestyle acts and pop acts.
@discovery781 - Unfortunately, Wikipedia is an open source for constant re-edits. It appears that they have removed the placement of Sandee's 1989 Love desire. It now appears to have been removed. I had not only seen it listed there, but had also heard the earlier version discussed on radio back in the early 90's.
@discovery781 - Sorry to inform your error, but this was actually recorded 2 years before it's official release in 91, so no it is not a rip off of Justify my love. Madonna ripped justify my love from Ingrid Chavez, who later sued Madonna.
@EpnieTop40 Madonna didnt rip anyone off, Ingrid co-wrote and recorded the song for her own album, but then for whatever reason the song was given to Madonna to record....happens all the time in the recording business...so perhaps it was ingrid Chavez who ripped off Sandee if what you are posting is true, about "Love Desire" being recorded 2 years before---- as ive never heard or read that anywhere....
