  • A real treat to listen to this type of music. I am from the hills of Southwest Va. and was raised on this sound. James has a great voice. Thanks for posting

  • Thank you 4 sharing James King....my fiance back home in Central VA talked to him this week at Mr. B's park - most of the band has moved on, but he continues forward. I'm also glad to see so many appreciating his music - if you've ever lived in rural VA from the swamps to the mountains, his music just calls you.

  • They could always trust that faithful cow with the baby they all loved

'Til the day the child was missin', and the cow was drenched in blood...

  • @sac78008 Is that the mad cow version??

  • @nsbluegrass Lol, yes. It's a great song, so a parody might be nicht nicht. But that's how I sing it to myself.

  • That is a great song but it is so evil. I could never sing this song. I don't even own a dog and I would cry through the end of it. Whoa.

  • Next time you see James, call him Elroy and ask him if he can still do a sweeping roundhouse kick. Tell him Andy sent you. I'm his little brother.

  • I saw him in Rockingham last Friday, he was great! This song is the first I heard that made me notice him. I was in CA of all places, but it did make me cry. I am in NC now! He will be back there in October and I will try and remember this.

  • James King has just the right voice and ability to put this song out there and tug at the heart-strings. Each time I hear this one I am affected and moved to tears. He manages a similar move on me in his work with Longview on Listen To My Hammer Ring.
