  • As a Virginian, I'm excited about a public option

  • i want to be the dude in the bottom right. yup that's paper. that's paper. that's paper...

  • Then the States surrounding Virginia can put up a big fence and keep all the people "Flocking" to the state with all the liberties and the rest of the country can look at them like they are in a Zoo..and poke them with sticks ..as they look out with their shabby dirty faces and hungry soles and ask them how they love their Freedoms

  • WTF does any of that have to do with INSURANCE?!!!

  • I was replying to maskedphrogg he says that Insurance takes our Liberities away

  • I wasn't replying to you actually...

But I would agree that "insurance for healthcare" does directly inhibit a person's "right to life", gives us fewer choices, and is anti-capitalism.

  • In the sake of Liberty i purpose that they do away with all the traffic lights in the State , I mean people don't want to be told when they should stop...Let them stop when they want to ...How about we do away completely with their Socialist Interstate system that way they can keep up their own roads system , then it will be converted back to dirt roads without signs and then you can all go back to horse and buggys horse shit on your sidewalks and a neighborhood cop walking the wooden sidewalks

  • Buuuuuuuuuulllllshhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiit !!

  • Cavoto's ending comment as the video fades out says it all about Fox's "journalistic" standards.

    Cavouto:

"...we're hearing a lot of reports that there's no protection..."

"Reports"? "We're hearing"? Perhaps it because the reports you're hearing are the ones you made up?

  • I'm a Virginian and I am in favor of universal heath care. I lived in The Netherlands recently for 2 1/2 years. The quality of health was much better than I experience in Virginia. There are no bills - no paperwork in the mail. My doctor spent time with me and took a holistic approach to my health. Many Americans who have lived for a time in Europe have similar stories. We are foolish not to learn from the success of other nations.

  • WTF? McConnell is talking nonsense. It's government run *INSURANCE*. It's not taking away doctor-patient relationships, taking over research, or any of that, any more than a private insurerer does. What an asshole.

  • The GOP have to quit lying and misinforming people if they are to have any chance at breaking even in 2010.

  • See what he doesn't understand is that healthcare reform is for people who don't have it or cannot afford it. Good that Virginians are happy with their healthcare, what about those that don't have it

  • hmmmmm. What you said would be great, but the people that do pay for their insurance will also have to help others pay for theirs. Seems odd to keep paying for your own private health insurance when you can just jump on the governments back for it...... Wait.... Aren't you and I paying for it?

  • honestly taxes don't bother me. I'm already paying for somebodies healthcare. I could care less about being taxed more

  • I guess you didnt know this but we all currently pay up to 40% more for private insurance because we already pay for the UNINSURED. the uninsured is auto factored into your plan. who did u think paid for it the gov or the hospital? no WE already take the LOSE not the doc, corps or the hospitals.. u pay that bill now sir. so anything that makes it cheaper for the uninsured to pay is good.

  • Those costs have nothing to do with the price of insurance. Your telling me that the uninsured is "auto factored" into my plan..... how can you say such a thing? Doesn't make sense to me.

And again, we wouldn't need it to be cheaper if the government would get out of our pockets so we had more money to save towards catastrophes. It keeps the money in the hands of the individual and allows them to make the choice for themselves. Adding a public option will inevitably increase taxes on everyone.

  • I want u 2 no that I am a economist curently finishing up a another degree in chinese and then off to law school. I currently work for a economist at the state dept that works on asian trade deals. I dont want you to feel like i hit you from a blind spot. However, u sir are not correct the cost of the uninsured has & always will be paid for by the insured. The hospitals, gov, nor the healthcare companies eat that lost. We all eat the lost as a collective who pay for private insurance.

  • If you are trying telling me that taxes don't go towards paying that, then there is no point in speaking any further

  • Cavuto needs to have surgery to remove that cock from his throat.

  • Ummm - hey, bucko, it's CORPORATE insurance that screws up the Doctor/Patient relationship. The health insurance companies tell you which doctors you can see, then tell those doctors how they're allowed to treat you. There's no "government takeover" of anything. Even Medicare still leaves room for private insurers.

It's one thing to find out a politician lied AFTER they got elected - it's another thing to be stupid enough to vote for him when he's telling blatant lies before he gets elected.

  • Are you trying to justify the actions of our current president by making the last one look worse?

    Seems like a double standard.

  • Mauhadeeb28 - have you gone off of your freaking meds (again)? Did I mention the president? Did any other post mention the President?

    No.

But you just had to take your tiny little anti-Obama boner and start poking it anywhere you could.

McDonnell couldn't even get three consecutive words out without spitting out another blatant lie. Any voter dumb enough to have someone spit on them and tell them it's a kiss deserves this guy.

And you ned to stop letting the FL sun bake your brain.

  • Keep making your lists of who needs to be removed from office.

  • west virginians don't even have money for shoes, so yeah, they're probably concerned with the deficit (eye roll) is this the crack ass who thinks straight porn makes you gay?

  • He is from Virginia, not West Virginia...

  • i wonder where he get the idea that co-op or the public option changes or take away your doctor. All the co-op and public option do is change how your doctor gets paid. no thing else changes you moron.

  • And when your doctor gets paid so little by the now government schedule of payments that it is no longer worthwhile for him or her to practice medicine where will you go then?

Sorry to burst your disinfo bubble but if you don't think these things thru to end results we all get screwed. Consider the Corporate monopoly enforced by government edicts we have now? Do you truly want to make it worse?

  • Umm, I lived in the city. I know a lot of doctors who work with patients who use medicare and medicaid. They are doing just fine. I don't buy that argument

  • Do they use it (MediCare MedicAid) exclusively?

    Your argument is incomplete.

When government bureaucracy sets prices across the board what will you do when your preferred doctor is only willing to practice at market rates?

Without a market you will lose the best and brightest and be forced to deal with only those willing or able to just get by. You just doomed yourself and all your neighbors to mediocrity.

    How proud you must feel.

  • Ive used Medicare before. I now use private insurance. I never had issues with Medicare. And like I mention before, I lived in area who take care of patient who use Medicare and Medicaid. They are great doctors. I think your argument is incomplete.

  • You missed the point. It's not about *you* using MediCare/MedicAid. It's about what will happen when ALL doctors are under a price regime set forth by government. Answer the question concerning doctors using nothing but the MediCare/MedicAid price schedule. Now extrapolate to a market where government has even greater influence to artificially discount price because government now holds most of the market's consumers by fiat. For a doctor to get paid he can only collect the government set price.

  • as opposed to charging whatever he so chooses? the idea of a government is that it executes the will of the people. If we decide, as a democracy, that we'll get together and set up a fund from which doctors will be paid at established rates, doctors can complain or bring suit if they think their Constitutional rights are being infringed upon, but not much else.

  • They can do something else. They can do whatever they please to take advantage of their medical background and former practice. Or are you suggesting we also coerce them to practice medicine while setting their rates to below market levels?

  • I'll ask again hve you read any of the 5 ( now 6 ) bills in the senate. or ny bill from the house? have you at leat read 10 amendmnts which are usually shorter from each party cantaining to doctors salaries or mandated care?

  • There were 5 major billsin the senate allone and the house had just as many and the combine amendments to the bills in the senate were 538. It isnt ` bill that makes docs mandate service. there will still be private healthcare and hopsitals they can work for if they so choose. Please at least read the most recent bill in markup before commenting. go to the rules committee and mark up committee sites to read some of the amendments

  • Please learn to write. I haven't the faintest of notions what you are trying to express.

"It isnt ` bill that makes docs mandate service."

I give you credit if you have actually "read" any Bill. That in and of itself is more than most Congressional or Senate reps have done.

  • i write just fine so please comment on my point. the space is very limited with utube so grammar and spellin has 2 be compromised 2 get a point across. its not that deepi see u still got the point which is there isnt 1 bill on the senate or house side that madates any doc has to provided care at below market rates like most other countries with a cross of private and public care they can chose who to work for but there r mandates on healthcare companies 2 provide wider coverage

  • If you "write just fine" please explain using the term *cantaining* when you appear to mean "pertaining"

I'm done with your bobbing and weaving. You either have no clue to economic realities or avoid considering that talented doctors will make rational choices to enhance their wealth as opposed to a sentence of servitude because it benefits everyone but themselves.

  • again you did not read even 1 bill or amendment but you speak on them as if you have facts. no law has been officially passed yet your so certain of what will be in the bills and you havent even read any bills or amendments underconstruction. I told you and sent you a web link showing our continued drop in health quality and you return with spell check comments on utube. thank you sir for proving that your're not serious about subject and would be agaisnt any plan.

  • Finally, I was sure you could find the spell check utility.

What are you blabbering on about now? What Bill are you speaking of? The discussion thus far has been focused on HR3200. If proponents are present for other Bills then what prey tell are those Bills?

You reference nameless entities and get confused when no one knows what you speak of.

Go back to usenet, trolls are abundant and tolerable there.

  • Again, less insults & more substance please. I have red this bill as well I showed u HR 676 because it was the most progressive of bills and even that bill doesnt mandate docs to do anything. Have you read 3200 at all? if so please show me where it mandates rates for doctors. u still havent explained how countries with better care ratings keep quality doctors, affordable rates and good salaies for doctors... why cant we do the same here? plz try to answer a question i dont spell check utube

  • i your so smart and informed. Why do 70% of doctors think the public option is a good idea? That is 70% of all doctors. You misinformed idiot

  • as a virginian with no insurance, FUCK YOU mcdonnell i'm voting against you and i hope you lose

  • if an insurance company cant compete with the Public option. Its not Obama fault, its not the Gov"s fault, its not the Democrats' fault, ITS THEIOWN FAULT!!!

  • I love how much it pisses him off!!

  • VA, vote out this silver spoon motherfucker.

  • Yes and you know what , If they pass a bill that lets States opt out of a public option , then we will see what Virginians think, when their the only state without single payer medical insurance...There will be an uprising in Virginia

  • Or, more likely, an influx of new residents.

  • Yea right , not likely buddy , but knock yourself out

  • There's evidence there will be a substantial immigration of new residents to any State that exhibits the will to defend Liberty.

See New Hampshire and the Free State Project for a contemporary example. Your nay saying has no impact on observed behaviour.

  • Your right then maybe they can do away with the Socialist School System , the Socialist Fire department and that damn Socialist police department , and then all give back their socialist Social Security checks and the damn Medicare that has been blocking our freedoms , then American can be free.....And the rest of the country will just follow suit ..Dream on buddy

  • what proof? please provide me the data so that i may read it.

IN GENERAL- The Program shall negotiate a simplified fee schedule that is fair and optimal with representatives of physicians and other clinicians, after close consultation with the National Board of Universal Quality and Access and regional and State directors. Initially, the current prevailing fees or reimbursement would be the basis for the fee negotiation for all professional services covered under this Act.

    is from bill hr676

  • Why did they show a desk jockey counting papers in the corner?

  • I think he was there to count the number of straw men and red herrings in McDonnell's argument.

  • Republicans are trying to convince people that they shouldn't want universal health care...

    It's ridiculous!

The only people that don't want Universal Health Care are people who have invested / have jobs in the health insurance industry and/or greedy rich people. The thought of anyone else being against it doesn't make sense.

  • I know!

  • What about the people that would prefer a public option over single payer? I don't want the government subsidizing healthcare, but I'm okay with them providing the same services for less cost or better services for the same cost through a non-profit, semi-governmental entity.

  • If the guy in the bottom right hand corner doesn't stop counting pages a puppy will die.

  • First thing, what was that guy in the lower right doing?

Second, when McLiar says Virginians are not excited, does he mean the rich ones who are doing everything to stop reform or the rich ones who run the insurance companies?

  • He's counting Cavuto's hate mail - that's number one.

Number two - this elite shill would never get taken seriously on another network.

  • lol thats a goon one ..

  • he is literally pulling this out of his ass

  • virginians i feel bad for you you need elected a good governor deeds would get my vote if i live in Virginia

  • How about stopping this Bullshit and actualy trying to make the damn fucking thing work

  • "the best pharmaceutical research and development" is already done by the federal government through funding to universities. BigPharma gets rich off of exclusive patents on drugs paid for by Americans. We are then charged through the nose for them because Big Pharma refuses to release generics.

  • Ignorant rednecks love being told they don't need the "gubment for nothin" even if it means supporting policies against their own interests.

  • so true. SO true. I teach in virginia and i have students who are so libertarian and republican/anti-obama but who happen to be on government health care! I'm talking about army vets. GOP is just a brand. It's not practical.

  • It's a brand that has an increasingly limited appeal. For all the evil that W did, the one good he did was flushing the GOP brand down the toilet. We've got to thank him for that.

  • Why do FoxNews always put on 2 conservatives, agreeing on that HealthCare Reform is bad?

    Fuckers...

  • Faux News is a TV tabloid.

  • If I listened to and believe republican lies, then I wouldn't be ecited about it either.

When and if the public option gets here, then the truth will be known.

I am not under any delusions that the republicans will do there best to make this the worst bill ever if they can't get it to fail. If they get their hands in it, they will make sure people suffer, if not for anything but the political joy of it.

  • or if they get back in the majority several have already pledge to over turn it if it passes. :(

  • Are wooden teeth coming back too?

  • If the GOP gets its way...

  • Poor poor Virginians. Which lobbyist is in your ass?
