we actually can't quite tell from this video, because this is a KTV video, it is used for people who have KTVs at home, so when she started singing, her voice is only sent to the right channel in your speakers whereas the chorus is sent to the left, and the chorus is set a bit louder i guess so it'll match whoever's singing at the KTV...cause if you pay attention, when Vin speaks the audio comes from both sides and it's much louder and clearer

Well, my comment still stands; there wasn't a need for a chorus in the very difficult parts of the song in the original Japanese version, the Mandarin cover, or the Korean cover version sung by a man. It's a solitary song thematically so to have more than one voice singing it is not fitting.
