Why does every video, older than 10 years, have to have these shitty comments about how good everything was back then and how these days suck. It only shows how blind you actually are.
I was born no-where near this time period but I loved the dancing. It was a time when music was innocent and it was meant to dance too. I loved it an' wish at times I was lucky to B a part of this generation and their music.........Ricky Nelson, Chubby Checker, Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers.
Our little girls love this song and dance their heart out.. we have wokka doos which are a dance move and we have a little girl whos nickname has always been razzle dazzle we are only a young family but wow we have some fun with this song and the girls ( 2 and 3 ) eyes just light up when it comes on
The rock movies of this time crack me up--they always had the old prudes acting shocked when the reality probably was that most real people that age didn't care about the music or may have actually liked it too. It was a marketing ploy by Hollywood and the music industry to appeal to middle-class white kids who wanted to rebel somehow & it worked tremendously well. Now it's become ingrained that the 50s were some period of great oppression thanks to what were basically viral ad campaigns.
@themanitasdeplomo back in the day, in my opinion, and what i have heard from family, the didnt need sexual moves to have a good time! I think it could be the same way today!
11 people are depressed that they can't dance like that and look as pretty as the women do. They can change if they would just get some guts to do so and tell eveyone else to shut up.
11 dislikes, it couldn't be a very old man, because I don't think the very old people use computers, I think there are the dislikes of ignorant people

Everybody come to the Asbury Park Convention Center August 10-14 for the "Shake Rhythm & Roll Music Festival" starring Lee Rocker, Bill Haley Jr; Bill Turner & Blue Smoke...a whole FIVE DAY weekend of rockabilly, swing, burlesque, jump blues, r&b and boogie woogie! Asbury Park NJ
i just love how everyone ALWAYS looked their best, my mother in law said one time that she NEVER saw her mom in her pajamas or looking poorly cuz she was always up first and all dressed up in her heels and pearls lookin her best. PPl were so classy in this day and age.
Bill Haley the man who brought rock and roll to white audiences, opened the doors for the others rockers. He performed his songs in Europe, South America, Australia, before Elvis, Chuck, Fats, Jerry Lee Lewis and others. That´s why he´s "The Father of Rock and Roll"; "The King of Rock"; "The Ambassador"; "The First Rocksuperstar"; "Mr. Rock and Roll". After he did it, it become easier for the rest of rockers.
i love the old people at the beginning of the scene who are flabbergasted at the thought of such "barbaric" music! HAHAHAHA!!
their heads would've literally exploded were they witness any of the available types of genre-bending music of today! i'm talkin' electroclash... dubstep... krump... grindcore... hell, even Taylor Swift would give them heart attacks LOL
@lemizoid I know right?! I watch biographies about musicians from this time and always laugh at how the older generation at the time found their music shockingly cacophonous. None of them would live five seconds listening to today's music; they'd all have instant heart attacks.
That was the fifties folks no alcohol sold on Sunday TV shut down after midnight, and we wore ties to school.Rock and Roll was forbidden. Whew, is it any wonder we took another road.It was still the best of times.
What's with the old hens getting their feathers ruffled?!? They were probably the flappers and rag time dancers of the 1920s and 30s, when they were young. Folks losing their memory fast. LOL
@headbangin1 For the record, this booty shaking, crunk having liberal woman of nowadays can still dance just like that. ...if there were any damn men around who still had the balls to join me.
This movie was hilarious! Can;t believe the attitudes of the elders to this kind of dance and music. But my mum (born 1950) tells me that her dad told her to shut off her music and turn on some Beethoven when she was a teenager! LOL And she said to him that that was "so square". Bring back the rock n roll! But my mum doesn't like my punk/metal music

Not saying that women can't land a good one - coming from a martial arts background, I guarantee we can - but men tend to do more damage without thinking about it too hard. Therefore you tend to look like more of a jerk if you hit back, instead of being smart in any fight someone else starts, and walking away.
@evanescencerawks Men an Women are equal yet unequal.
Haly's guitarist was totally badass. The solo in this song, Rock Around the Clock, etc. were proto-hard rock...this is where rock guitar comes from...jazz.
This makes everyone, happy and want to dance. It is quite a statement on our society, to see the teenager pull a power punch at the authority figure because the conservative mindset was to abolish anything that was not part of the status quo. Glad she told that old women off, -she can't get the cash for her beloved school- It was a glorious moment in RnR history to dis authority--- and thanks to great music like Haley's Comets a whole new generation brought real thinking into a stagnant society.
@TrueBelieversUnite I could not agree with you more. The girls back then were so much prettier in many many ways, not like today, stuck up, womens lib and all that shit
@Chargernation17 yeah, imagine women wanting to have rights like men have. next thing you know, they're going to think they are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
@Chargernation17 the guys were waaaaay WAY hotter back then. it's just not even fair anymore. now they are all ugly and suck. ahahah i guess people were just way more awesome back then.
@Chargernation17 Excuse me, but that's a gross generalisation. What are you basing your comment on, meeting a couple of younger women who thought you were old? Please don't subject us to your narrow thinking and bias views.

Haly's guitarist was totally badass. The solo in this song, Rock Around the Clock, etc. were proto-hard rock...this is where rock guitar comes from...jazz.

@zoznack
I agree.
This clip it`s Franny Beecher who left Bill in 1962.
On the Rock Around The Clock recording it was Danny Cedrone who sadly died after a fall down the stairs.
Franny could also play this solo of course.
All the best

How has America managed to degenerate itself from this kind of culture where music was fun and positive to this low class crap we have today?

This makes everyone, happy and want to dance. It is quite a statement on our society, to see the teenager pull a power punch at the authority figure because the conservative mindset was to abolish anything that was not part of the status quo. Glad she told that old women off, -she can't get the cash for her beloved school- It was a glorious moment in RnR history to dis authority--- and thanks to great music like Haley's Comets a whole new generation brought real thinking into a stagnant society.

@Chargernation17 yeah, imagine women wanting to have rights like men have. next thing you know, they're going to think they are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

@Chargernation17 Excuse me, but that's a gross generalisation. What are you basing your comment on, meeting a couple of younger women who thought you were old? Please don't subject us to your narrow thinking and bias views.
