I've installed Windows 7 32 bit on my old Satellite A100 but I lost "fn" keyboard functions and I cannot enable WIFI so I can't connect to internet, where do I get the drivers to make it perfectly functional ??
Hi I'm Fegemar from the Philippines, I also did install a windows 7 on my toshiba sattelite a100 and have a problem installing games on it like: warcraft, Yuri, and other game software. i think it has to do with the graphics drivers. Do you have and available Drivers for it? thank you
i have the same setup on my A100 with 2gb ram.. but Windows7 did not pickup correct video driver which i have is nVidia still works a lot better than it ever did. Although i would like to upgrade video card any ideas ??
I update my Toshiba Satellite A105 (same as the vid, except for 1 more GB of RAM) clean install to WIndows 7 Home Premium. Used WIndows Easy Transfer; downloaded the new Toshiba drivers; very easy to do; no problems.
dont updatei made the mistake on my toshiba satellite u405 and now every other time it boots up the trackpad and keybaord dont respond if anyone knows of a fix pleas pm me
Just want to say that I myself yesterday did the same, installed Win 7 on my Toshiba laptop A100. I was wondering if you would happen to have the Graphics drivers for the A100 because my vista didn't install the right drivers. Is there any drivers out there for Win 7 A100? Thanx for any help!
Buddy what Video Card do you have on this Toshiba Settelite A 100.
I have same Laptop. and it has ATI mobility x1300 and ... the driver is not supported in win 7. i can only have once choice of screen resolution i.e. Video driver is not supported. Let me know if you have driver for that or any news about.
Wow, that's surprising. I have this machine (Toshiba A100). You say it runs Windows 7 better than XP? Dude, I gotta install that. Where did you get the beta version?
I have an A100 and have been fighting to get windows 7 onto it, do you have the 855 intel chipset and if so how did you get drivers for it. I can't get graphics drivers to work so i can't change the brightness of the screen or go external, I also can't get the laptop into standby. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I'm using Windows 7 on my old Toshiba Satellite A50, it works great without Aero as it does not have a dedicated video card. Still, it's about 6 years old now and I'm glad that it is still functional and able to do light surfing/play DVDs/Email/IM/Word processing etc.
Hey bowlestrak (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) by the looks of your computer you might know alot about them, I an recently on windows xp media center and I have the exact same computer as your the toshiba one a-100 and I was wondering... My computer gives me the blue screen of death, and would it be a good idea to upgrade it to vista home premium? Cause I'm tired of this this always having the blue screen of death thanks.!
I'm trying to do the same thing you're doing, and I've come across two problems: The audio drivers and trying to merge the two partitions (15gig and 40 gig) together. Think you could help me out?
No, all I've downloaded was the video drivers (Geforce Go 7300), and I think everything else seems to be working except the audio drivers. I've been digging for drivers that I need and other than the video, no luck.
I have a question: do you think Windows 7 will run well on my Toshiba Satellite R10? It too is about 3 years old and it too didn't work well with Vista, and I hate laggy operating systems.
You should be ok. Windows 7 runs much faster than Vista on most computers. In fact, it will probably be faster than the original XP install, at least that what I found when I was running the beta. I reinstalled the OEM os on the laptop in this video a while ago, only because I was an os that didn't have an expiry date. Other than that, it was a great experience.
I actually have 3, I was running a second monitor on my macbook at the time. I have donated many things to charity including old systems but I always keep a rotation of three computers and each has its purpose
First of all, ew Mac? Why bother? Second of all, ew Windows side bar? Rainmeter ftw!
But I agree on Windows 7 subject. It is rather impressive. The only thing I don't really like is the random blue screens after running video games mixed with Windows Media Player.
The only thing that is the same is the looks and some of the desktop environment coding, otherwise it is completely different. Vista was so fucked up repairing that shit was impossible.
it not a big different beta and vista they both crash...beta half my drives didnt work...it cant play avi files...the enviroment is pretty much the only different....Trust me Mac are way better....apple crush MS in every thing.
I have tried Mac and after my Google friend exploiting me and taking over my Mac operating system with a 15 second exploit I am never using Mac again but don't think I'm a Microsoft fanboy either. If you look at my channel I am actually a Linux supporter. I have never had a serious problem with Windows 7 Beta nor the RC.
no offense some linux distro are good but to me it a wash up version of mac....but for the price it a good OS...but what do you mean your friend let you use mac....
He didn't let me use it, I had it and he exploited it as in hacked it and took control and Linux is not a washed up version of Mac... Linux is actually a lot harder to exploit. You obviously have not actually used any Linux distro as a primary OS.
actually i have im running eLive right now...also i had ubuntu 9.04 and 8.x, Ubuntu Studio, puppy linux and some other but i forgot the name......the hack version suck your probaly used Mac 8.0 or something. why would want to exploit some that is free.
Mac is really shitty security wise. And I have never heard of a Mac server... The only reason why it's better than Windows security wise is because it has a different file system.
so you think mac is easy to exploits as in installing the OS on your computer or as in basic security, because OSX cant run on most PC except for a couple which i got. also window all you got to do is dont do one update which it work with all computers. also in basic security vista pretend like it stopping something but it aint. many people wont hack because it rare for people to have a mac. im 16 and i only saw 5 macs in my life. also vista you can hack over a e-mail and internet explorer suck
Mac gets hacked and very easily and your English sucks... I can't understand half of the shit you're saying and you can hack Mac over e-mail with Safari. Safari is the most vulnerable browser known to man.
HAHAHAHA THAT IS FUNNY! That is why it's THE most vulnerable web browser placed by many tech sites. I never said I used IE and Windows is A LOT harder to hack than Mac, trust me. And virus' aren't hacking. You need to learn more about PC security and the different threats before you argue with me.

Jay2JZ 1 year ago
hey, i need your opinion.. is it possible if i instal the win 7 ultimate 64bit to this laptop version? i got 4 gb memory btw.
some people say that the driver won't compatible to the 64bit version..
the only reason i want the 64bit is bcause if we're using the 32bit my memory will be detected as 3.12 gb.. that is so waste..so answer it please...

Do you think it would be okay to upgrade to windows 7?
And would i need to but an external hard drive for all my files or would they all transfer?
Thanks!

"3 years old"
That's nothing.
From 2002, making it 7 years old:
Pentium 3 - 1Ghz
Radeon 9700 Pro (Directx 9 = Aero)
1GB(512*2) DDR333
And a delicious 640GB AAKS from WD.
Runs smoothly... all of the drivers automatically managed.
