i have the same setup on my A100 with 2gb ram.. but Windows7 did not pickup correct video driver which i have is nVidia still works a lot better than it ever did. Although i would like to upgrade video card any ideas ??

I update my Toshiba Satellite A105 (same as the vid, except for 1 more GB of RAM) clean install to WIndows 7 Home Premium. Used WIndows Easy Transfer; downloaded the new Toshiba drivers; very easy to do; no problems.

I have an A100 and have been fighting to get windows 7 onto it, do you have the 855 intel chipset and if so how did you get drivers for it. I can't get graphics drivers to work so i can't change the brightness of the screen or go external, I also can't get the laptop into standby. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using Windows 7 on my old Toshiba Satellite A50, it works great without Aero as it does not have a dedicated video card. Still, it's about 6 years old now and I'm glad that it is still functional and able to do light surfing/play DVDs/Email/IM/Word processing etc.

Ah audio drivers, always seem to be a nightmare to deal with. Did you install Toshiba's updated drivers?

No, all I've downloaded was the video drivers (Geforce Go 7300), and I think everything else seems to be working except the audio drivers. I've been digging for drivers that I need and other than the video, no luck.

You should be ok. Windows 7 runs much faster than Vista on most computers. In fact, it will probably be faster than the original XP install, at least that what I found when I was running the beta. I reinstalled the OEM os on the laptop in this video a while ago, only because I was an os that didn't have an expiry date. Other than that, it was a great experience.
