Then, the choice contains 3 items is like a triangle, and Africa is a global thing.

@nippoland Well a budgie is a type of parrot, so that part is okay. It's impossible that Derren could have predicted Africa though, I have a hunch that the camera pan showing the continent handwritten was an after-shot.

Derren is a truly inspirational entertainer. He's practically single-handedly brought back illusion and trickery into the new millenia. I met him as he left the Liverpool Empire theatre in 2006 and in person he's a really nice guy. Despite telling me that there were no books to find this stuff in (there is it's just mostly out of print), I forgive him and can't wait to catch him when he comes back up north. Amazing stuff, i love watching him. Notice how when the woman is asked to pick a shape how many times he says "three". 3 sides = triangle. Also there are three shapes there and the are arranged in the shape of a triangle. Very subtle when you first watch though. =)

DB starts here the forgetting thing with "check". "Check" the ears, then a cheque (=check). The check goes with a swapping, when a falsely swaps Jenny and Henriette. Then when checking he says he "checks".

the black background behind the shapes enables a black-dressed backer of Derren to replace the black envelope under the stone, in case derren guessed wrong.

The backer had enough time to prepare the envelope, because the women had to go down to the stage first (thats why the longhaired guy had to throw the cat behind him. It garants the chosen person sits in one of the higher rows and needs some time to walk down to the stage).
