My team got sponsored and we all were given these socks. It is best to take the extra piece of velcro that comes with the socks and sew it onto your Shorts/Jock. The small piece of velcro on most shorts/jocks is too small to hold up this sock. Also because the sock only has velcro on one side of the sock, it needs the bigger piece of velcro provided with the socks to hold it up securely. World Class Socks!
@SlapSnapandWrists I think thats way to large for you then, I would try on a size lower, and if thats too small you'll have to look for a different sock
our team has these socks, im not very hard on my socks but i went through 2 pairs during the year, they tear soooo easy, although i like the feeling, they are terrible quality.
I usually go through the wool socks in less than a year but I've had these for over a year and still no holes. If you've got hairy legs those shin gaurds can get pretty sweaty damn sweaty and rank! these socks will definitely help!
we got the plain white ones and navy blue ones for our team. the blue ones seem to be more durable which is weird, but no holes or anything yet, but for the white ones, i had 4 holes in them after the first game. also on the white ones they turn yellow on the bottom because of sweat and the puck marks make them look ugly. overall we all seem to like them, but they arent very durable and they require more sock tape in order to hold them up
i think size has a lot to do with hockey equipment. im 6 foot 215 Lbs. and i hear a lot of complaints from skinnier guys about these socks being to loose. personally they fit very snug on my calves and i only have to tape them at the top of my knee. mine has a small hole from my skate when i took a hit, other than that i wash them every skate and have yet to see wear. i hate CCM socks but then again equipment is personal preference just like leather gloves. no hate on the lanky dudes. GO WINGS
@ThePaisteTrout477 yeah i am 6ft and 150lbs and i was looking at that sock like "there is no way that thing would fit me" i had some similar socks that i got from china when i was visiting, they weren't that exact material but they were made to be thin and breathable like these, and i loved them untill after three years my last pair got too beat up to use. Also fuck yes Hockeytown!
These socks are very comfortable and breathe great but the average player on my team is getting about 4 or 5 games outta them before holes begin... Regular woven socks are lasting about 30 games and are cheaper to buy.
The best application of these is for a goalie because it's softer and since the socks touch your bare skin, it's easier on your knees:)
I'm switching to these socks for the first time. Do they "really" stay up with only one velcro tab on the front? Since I've used knit socks for the last 15 years with a jock with velcro on the front and back, I don't see how these socks would work with only a tab on the front. Any comments?
My friend has a pair of these, they look really cheap... they look like they would tear very easily. I'll stick to my thick cotton, old school socks :)
As a goalie, I wear the KPREE- 2009 knee/ thigh protectors. Would this sock be worth buying? I am looking for comfort as well as something that is breathable...
I have had these socks for 2 years now and I still wear them. There are rips here and there but they last a hell of a lot longer than the knitted socks.
I want to get the ones that have a white line running down the middle of the back. Its usually used during the NHL Team Practice sessions. But I need to improve my skating first! :-p
ive got these there prertty nice i got youths so they fit tighter but i still tape my shingaurds i guess im just a creature of habit i havent tried the velcro thing but i will monday at a puckshoot becuase i wasnt sure about the veclro system but all in all i like em
The NHL does not wear these socks. This is for consumers only.
They dont have the logo on the sock and they dont have the strap where it attaches itself to the jock. The idea of the sock was to keep the shinguard in place without having to use cleartape so it promotes circulation and mobility. They wear them loose and still tape it up. I got a few pairs at the Leafs equipment sale for a couples of dollars. To BoDanglesss, dont buy them.
@TheCoolgirl1992 are you drunk every nhl team uses these and even the retail ones have all the same features plus their liike 20 bucks a pair not a couple dollars
I like to main design as far as the fabric goes and the look and feel go but what I didn't like about this sock is the 1 velcro strap, It just felt like the back of the sock was falling off of my lef and it didn't feel comftorable at the top.
these socks look fucking sick on.... but the suck all they do is ride up, twist and get cut... and they only fit if your shin pads are the right side. my whole team had them and only a few fit tight around the shin pad like the are ment to do...

@fookutoob that is so true! I have the knit socks and they are so rough on my knees.
By the end of the game or practice, there is little marks on my knees because of the socks. These socks look like under armor
