Here's my favorite thing about Ozzie. Once upon a time I was in Seattle and the Sox were in town. Luck would have it, I got good tickets to the game. I got there early. Before the game started, I was sitting there with some friends, the only guy with a Sox fan anywhere near home plate. Ozzie was looking back up to the stands, I don't know why, but for some reason he tipped his hat right in my direction. I did one of those those look-arounds. There was no one else there.

The issue isn't about language its about articulation. Should ANYONE who is difficult to understand be hired as a broadcaster? There are some English speaking ex-athletes who are equally hard to listen to. But certain paranoid insecure people have a problem with anyone with an accent (particularly a Spanish accent). You probably also have a problem with bilingual signs and the Spanish option on phone menus.
He was smart enough to lead a team to a world championship and probably makes more in a year than you will earn in your lifetime. On top of that, he speaks two languages while I'll bet anything you can barely speak one. He was talented enough (and smart enough) to play one of the most difficult positions at an all-star level in one of the most complex sports to play.

Here's my favorite thing about Ozzie. Once upon a time I was in Seattle and the Sox were in town. Luck would have it, I got good tickets to the game. I got there early. Before the game started, I was sitting there with some friends, the only guy with a Sox fan anywhere near home plate. Ozzie was looking back up to the stands, I don't know why, but for some reason he tipped his hat right in my direction. I did one of those those look-arounds. There was no one else there.

When the White Sox won in 2005, the first thing that entered my was who is going to join the CUbs in baseball hell. The issue isn't about language its about articulation. Should ANYONE who is difficult to understand be hired as a broadcaster? There are some English speaking ex-athletes who are equally hard to listen to. But certain paranoid insecure people have a problem with anyone with an accent (particularly a Spanish accent). You probably also have a problem with bilingual signs and the Spanish option on phone menus.
