@TheCottonTop as long as the numbers jive who cares how they get there. if they can make a pushrod v8 with 0ver 500hp and redline at 7000 rpms with stump pulling torque who cares how it's done. kudos to ford for the 5.0 it;s a great car but up until know ford had to use air induction to make horsepower. again It doesn't matter to me how hp is made as long as it's there. the great thing about this is the competition is raising the bar in performance.

@TheCottonTop Diesel injectors? I don't know of any standard diesel injector that wouldn't self destruct in short order with gasoline flowing through it. That's why when you 'accidentally' run gas through a diesel motor, a lot of times the injectors need to be replaced (depending on how long you ran it with gas). The engine will usually keep running until you shut it off depending on the mix of gas/diesel.
This doesn't account for the drivetrain, however I must assume the new 5.0 will mount to the T3650 or T56, so there shouldn't be a problem.
Although putting this engine in a Fox Body would be pretty unique, if I were do something like this, and want to stand out, I'd grab the drivetrain from a 2003/2004 Terminator. Cheaper, doable, FAR more mod friendly.
But if you just want a fast Fox, like I said, 351Windsor, worked, stroked, go N/A or bottle/boost, depending on budget and needs.
i dont think the camaro will fail i think that depending on the person the camaro will draw in more enthusiasts and popular market while the mustang will be drawing in just enthusiasts
Those guys are already doing that, so far as far as I can tell they have the engine, and that's about it. also if a 3v 4.6 will work in a fox then this can too however wiring might be a huge pain.
It will fit with work, you'll need to take your car to a shop with skilled mechanics. They will need to cut a little and possibly weld, small job tho. After that, it's all fuel/wiring, etc etc. However, the cost of these engines far exceeds any N/A engine Ford makes, I hope you plan to buy the new 5.0 from a "totaled" '11GT..(Technically 4951cc, or 4.9L it's exactly 302ci, same as old. But it's 32 valve, BIG heads)
Unless you really want the (Ti-VCT) technology, buy a 351W block and stroke it
People need to realize that this is the first "great" mustang GT. I love mustangs (Own a 2003 Cobra) Cobra's are Cobra's, but this new "GT" is flatout sick. Incredible 32V engine, FINALLY, 400hp to the wheels, geared up, suspension, brembo's, lost weight, what more do you want?

I'm going by the trend that Ford underrates their engines, as in my 2003 Cobra. They say 390HP, nonsense, more like 420. So I'm assuming around 400whp for the GT, I could be wrong, but it's a trend and I don't see any reason for it to change now.
you have a point there, but the mach 1 was rated for 315 and it too was underated and stock ones normally dyno'd at around 280-290whp. which is really good 7-10% drivetrain loss for a rwd is sick, hence why people think its underated too lol - just my 2 cents :)

I don't believe this is possible, that's incredibly high. Did you buy your car used? It may not be stock. If otherwise, then you must have the dyno slip, this would be incredible, you would keep it. Scan it, upload it and post a link here, or it didn't happen.

Stupid Nigger music,makes no sense.Buy a used GT like I did an 06 with 3,000 miles,for $18,200,I put $8,700 into it with a supercharger ,headers ,exhaust,and cams,and I got me a power pony with 578 HP for way less then a new GT and a Shelby GT500.And better looking,I hate the new body style,especially the cheap ass plastic on the bottom sides and back,so weak looking.

But yeah the 5.0s stomp ass, its 0-60 time and 1/4 times are almost neck and neck with GT500

@TheCottonTop as long as the numbers jive who cares how they get there. if they can make a pushrod v8 with 0ver 500hp and redline at 7000 rpms with stump pulling torque who cares how it's done. kudos to ford for the 5.0 it;s a great car but up until know ford had to use air induction to make horsepower. again It doesn't matter to me how hp is made as long as it's there. the great thing about this is the competition is raising the bar in performance.

@TheCottonTop Diesel injectors? I don't know of any standard diesel injector that wouldn't self destruct in short order with gasoline flowing through it. That's why when you 'accidentally' run gas through a diesel motor, a lot of times the injectors need to be replaced (depending on how long you ran it with gas). The engine will usually keep running until you shut it off depending on the mix of gas/diesel.

This doesn't account for the drivetrain, however I must assume the new 5.0 will mount to the T3650 or T56, so there shouldn't be a problem.
Although putting this engine in a Fox Body would be pretty unique, if I were do something like this, and want to stand out, I'd grab the drivetrain from a 2003/2004 Terminator. Cheaper, doable, FAR more mod friendly.
But if you just want a fast Fox, like I said, 351Windsor, worked, stroked, go N/A or bottle/boost, depending on budget and needs.

Those guys are already doing that, so far as far as I can tell they have the engine, and that's about it. also if a 3v 4.6 will work in a fox then this can too however wiring might be a huge pain.

It will fit with work, you'll need to take your car to a shop with skilled mechanics. They will need to cut a little and possibly weld, small job tho. After that, it's all fuel/wiring, etc etc. However, the cost of these engines far exceeds any N/A engine Ford makes, I hope you plan to buy the new 5.0 from a "totaled" '11GT..(Technically 4951cc, or 4.9L it's exactly 302ci, same as old. But it's 32 valve, BIG heads)
Unless you really want the (Ti-VCT) technology, buy a 351W block and stroke it

People need to realize that this is the first "great" mustang GT. I love mustangs (Own a 2003 Cobra) Cobra's are Cobra's, but this new "GT" is flatout sick. Incredible 32V engine, FINALLY, 400hp to the wheels, geared up, suspension, brembo's, lost weight, what more do you want?
And who's gonna buy a Camaro from Government Motors, not knowing if the dealers will be around to service the damn things in 3 years??

I'm going by the trend that Ford underrates their engines, as in my 2003 Cobra. They say 390HP, nonsense, more like 420. So I'm assuming around 400whp for the GT, I could be wrong, but it's a trend and I don't see any reason for it to change now.

you have a point there, but the mach 1 was rated for 315 and it too was underated and stock ones normally dyno'd at around 280-290whp. which is really good 7-10% drivetrain loss for a rwd is sick, hence why people think its underated too lol - just my 2 cents :)

I don't believe this is possible, that's incredibly high. Did you buy your car used? It may not be stock. If otherwise, then you must have the dyno slip, this would be incredible, you would keep it. Scan it, upload it and post a link here, or it didn't happen.

And yes, My father's friend owned it for close to 5 years, I've only put 2 sets of new tires new tires, Oil changed a couple of times, It ran just fine. I still have the Dyno results, But I don't have a Scaner at my house or anything... Maybe Ford Underated the Engine? :/ Ford underrated their engine from the Cobra at 390

Although I guess it's possible you have possibly the most powerful stock Terminator on the street...

I do understand where your coming from...these new engines require incredible leaps of tuning and computer programing for them to make power...and I wont lie even the new LS series engines are incredibly sophisticated to where they started...and Older 350 or W351 that are carbed can be tuned with a screw driver LOL.
But then again I wont ever knock the new stuff there good engines...its just so much is needed to get them tuned is all.

Fact: an OHC engine with equally the same displacement as a Push-rod will produce more power and toque throughout the whole band. For reference, why don't you destoke any LS engine to to 281CI and see how much power you end up with? bet it wont even make 100hp. Look at the AMG 6.3 it produces the same power as the LS7.

Wrong again!! The reason for that rating was because in that year there was a new SAE rating on horsepower. Fact: Ford's engines are underrated 03-04 Cobra's are rated 390hp but on a dyno they are closer 360to the wheel meaning that they are actually produce well over 400hp stock from the factory
